Hello, I am new to the forum. We are coming down this fall to look around. We enjoy pickle ball and golf, plus photography and travel. We hate snow!!

I have been lurking before joining and am learning a lot about the area.

We too hate snow. That's why we rented for four years and have owned for three. Still up north but once the snow flies, it's hasta la vista. My wife figured if not now, when???
We had looked around and gone to some open houses and scoped out where we wanted to be near. By the way, there really isn't a bad spot in The Villages. It's all in priorities. Prior to buying, we came down one September and said no playing and we're here to house hunt and that's what we did. Take your time, ask questions and do your homework. Bets of luck to you 'newbies' and hope you have a great experience.

Welcome. I have wintered in WI, IL, MN, CO and Northern Nevada. I certainly do not miss shovling snow, putting on snow tires, putting my hands over my ears as someone fires a cannon at a mountain peak, etc. Well, actually the last one was quite fun.

Is that to intentionally start an avalanche?

Be prepared to fall in love with TV. It's a beautiful place with a lot of friendly people and you won't want to leave.

Yes. They do that before opening up ski lifts if there is too much snow. I worked at a ski training program for Washoe County youth at Slide Mountain a few winters. This is between Reno and Lake Tahoe up Mt. Rose.
