Also, fuel consumption makes those seats somewhat "wobbly" better be belted into them just in case.
I guess you didn't see my plans yet?

It will be solar powered, only pedal on rainy days

As it will definitely be Solar powered with pedal power as back up, a select group of the Gilly Engineers are busy working on a new type of battery that will be launched to the public around the beginning of April - watch this space.

So unfortunately the only person who is likely to be very busy will be the Bartender.

Do we know who that will be? - oh yes His Worship the Mayor has volunteered - whoops

Not happy with the problems with not doing the stretches we were promised in writing, and at first request the villages is not willing to do anything at all to compensate us other than they offered us the ability to choose another lot, AT CURRENT RAISED PRICES. We had our lot on Vicksburg Ave. reserved for 5 months, and at the design appointment they said "so sorry, so sad, and sorry we promised in writing and on a layout, but you can't do those stretches, but we will stretch it as much as we can". On top of that, our first designer was tired, disinterested and rushing us from one house to another before we were ready. We refused to deal with her anymore and got a new one assigned.
I have never heard of them agreeing to stretches before the design meeting. Who agreed in WRITING that you could make those stretches?
Good you got a different designer. We had a designer for four days and she was wonderful. But that was back last March when they were willing to accommodate to drum up business. My how things have changed. So sorry it was such a chore. But glad you are able to look past that and on to the dream.

I don't know if it's the same as getting it in writing, but I had my sales rep take my model to design and have them tell me what stretches I could get ahead of time. They had CAD take a look at it. I got an email with the results and a disclaimer that it was preliminary. When I got to design I was fortunate to get everything. There were some options I didn't know about and they didn't ask me if I wanted during design.

I also submitted my plans before hand,
(although we would up buying a spec) that was the recommended process if we had concerns

SpiceCajunPugs,
First of all, I'm sorry to hear that of design process did not meet your expectations on many fronts. We recently designed and had quite the opposite experience. Our sales agent also received preliminary approval for a couple of stretches we wanted, but also told us in no uncertain terms that the designers had the final say in the entire design process. We learned that when we finally met with our designer. We had requested a certain designer who had come highly recommended, but were told that TV would not assign designers in advance. We did not work with the individual we requested but were more than pleased with our designer. She was more than conscientious and interested in making us feel comfortable with our selections. We were lucky enough to receive the stretches we had requested, plus some stretches and suggestions for use of space that she recommended.
Much of the success of The Villages is due to the work ethic, ability, and expertise of those they hire. If you were not pleased with your design meeting, I would suggest you send a letter - not an email - to Jennifer Parr to discuss your concerns.
Regardless of your experience, I'm glad you were able to see past the experience and are looking forward to your future in TV and all it has to offer, which is pretty much the primary reason so many of us chose TV in the first place! Welcome!

Rona

A-4 Skyhawk,
We are meeting with the design team this morning. We'd like to make several stretches similar to the one on your plans. Wish us luck.

Linda and I were very happy with the designer and the process. I believe our sales person did a good job of getting us the designer. I was also told that we could change lots once with no consequences, and we were told the lot that we picked didn't allow for a stretch, but while we were there they looked at a one foot stretch for the lanai and the master bedroom. I did a similar process 6 years ago at Lake Ashton and we have been very pleased both times. My guess is with so many going up there has to be some good and some not as good designers.
