Thanks in advance- Can't wait!
Welcome to Gillyland. Just sent you a PM and an email. You're on the spreadsheet and I see you're Flintstones next door neighbor. You've come to the right place for sharing info on the design process.

Default ChiefRose's Roof

ChiefRose got a roof today. I'll bet he gets shingles tomorrow.

With only seven more weeks till Ann Marie and I close in Gilly my thoughts are turning to selecting service providers. Since so many of you are already in place I am sure you have already made these decisions. I am looking for input on cable company, insurance company, lawn service, garage floor finishers, garage stairs, electrician\handyman, etc. Also, those of you that are not Frogs; did you get someone to check the house in your absence? Thanks for any help.

Lawn 40-50 a month do not pay a penny up front, many complaints on this service
Garage floor - go to HD roll it, $125 rustolium brand, or ask Rusty he had it done looks good.

Thanks, Bob. I had the paddle fans deleted since I wanted nicer ones in the house. Most likely will buy from Pikes and have them install.

Our designer nemtioned Dan's Fans as a good place to get light kits and fans. We saw work from American Concrete and Staining and are having them do the garage and lanai after closing.
We talked with Villages Insurance and they are reasonable and convenient.
See you soon!

We went to Pikes and I almost passed out from their prices. Went to Dan's Fan City between TV and Leesburg and did MUCH better and the guy who worked with us knew his stuff on sizing. He has all of the TV floor plans so he knows the ceiling heights and down rod lengths. They installed for free. We're very pleased but I would suggest you ask for or make an appointment with Lee Vesser 352-326-9018.

Good info, Sky...thanks. I wanted to get my own fans too, bc I prefer darker ones, and got $80 credit per fan...$480, I think...goes a long way in do it yourself dollars. BUT I am overwhelmed with it all. I have moved in my lifetime, but only once alone, and that was 18 years ago.
It will be fun when it's done!

Chief:

We have:

AAA for home (wi sinkhole), car, and cart

Directv for television

Comcast for internet only

cell phone in lieu of landline

Stellar (a totv sponsor) for lawn maintenance and fertilize/pesticide; the company services 4 of my neighbors, no complaints from any of us.

At his prices and you MUST pay up front there better not complaints, but if fact if you search you will find several, his straightened them tho.

I think U can shop better deals w/o up front $$$

I appreciate the heads up, Bob.

(I intend to return to doing-it-myself as soon as my shoulder surgery rehab permits.)

Hi Rusty,
Thanks so much for the great pictures. It does look good. We are very excited to get down to TV. We feel like we are in limbo! Today the packers came and tomorrow the movers come.
I love all the comments going around. What a nice community we are going to live in. It reminds me of our current "hood". We have many long time relationships here. Will miss them, but know that we are going to have more great friends.
Thanks again for the pictures. I cant believe how fast they go! See you in a couple of weeks. Gayle and Mike
