Jimbo,
Who removes the dirt after the backhoe operator digs the hole? Do you hire another contractor?

The 5.1 sound and home theater system is really an ez project.

The solar systems (2) R much more complex, but the newest toy I'm working on is eliminating all chemicals in both the pool & spa.

It's called a "Natural fresh water pool", it should be a lot fun.

oh fun to play with these projects now that I'm semi retired

No it's my dirt, it stays here, I'll use it for planting beds & privacy berms.

So, Betty and Joe, I walked thru your cement today! I saw your cucina and it looks even better in person! All your paint, both interior and exterior, anre complete and landscaping in. They dropped some green gunk in your drive and hopefully that will be cleaned up prior to your arrival. All your lights are in and complete but the electric meter is not there yet, so no electricity. It's looking very much like a home, and I like your darker tile! Carpet will be next... so congrats and see you next month!!! Abodanza!

Default SlaBlock-eration

I think the Slab-eration for tonight has been renamed the SlaBlock-eration. They put up all of the block in less than 6 hours. These guys were incredible to watch. See you at EP in an hour.

Jimbo, thanks for the new pictures. The ceiling looks lovely. My goodness, I thought Rich was handy, but not with wood working. Keep us updated.

A4, what a difference a day makes!

Yankee quilter, your kitchen is beautiful.

Carol, Hello, it has been sometime since we spoke.

Take care all.

Kitty
When we came down for our design dates Dec 1-5, we knew what we needed and wanted. We did a little comparison shopping. We found our refridgerator was almost $900 more if we purchased it from TV. We found it for the best price at Home Depot. They will deliver on the date we chose which is the day after close. The rest of our appliances we were not allowed to get elsewhere because we had the built in double oven.
As for the washers and dryers, since we are camping out in our rental, we went out and comparison shopped and found a good price at Sears.

There are always sales going on. We have ordered other furniture from several different stores and all are fine with us choosing the delivery date to coinside with our close.

So if you need support let me know. I am here. Gayle

Last nights Slaberation was great. It was fun to reconnect with Gillylanders from Dec and meet new ones who have been here since. I cant believe that we are so lucky to be able to live here.
We went to our house on the way home last night. All the lights were on and the door unlocked. I found that weird since all the appliances are in. Well anyway, we total love our home. If any of you are in the 209 unit and feel like dropping in, be our guests to go visit our house. I think the builders have done a great job. If there are any flaws that you see, let us know so we can bring it up at our walk through in two weeks.

Well, if truth be known, I speak un poquito espanol and Italian, fairly fluent in Norwegian, and American. However, after having spent some time with our token Brits Andy and Wendy, I can now speak some "proper English" that I have picked up from them. I have been heard lately using a very important phrase "bits and bobs" that I have recently learned

Ir was indeed wonderful to see so many smiling faces at the slaboration last night! Lots of fun speaking with everyone and hearing all about their homes and recent activities! What a wonderful group of people to be associated with, and I thank my lucky stars I ended up in such a great neighborhood! We rock!

Talking abount 'Bits and Bobs' a very large 'Bit' or is it a 'Bob' has appeared on the A4 building site?

Apparantly a block has been left on the front of the lot and no-one amongst the workers present have any idea where it should go!!!

Attachment 9591

His Worship the Mayor has launched the FLAPS to carry out an indepth anaysis of the build to determine just where the 'Bit' (or Bob) should go, significant concern was raised by the PERCS as to whether the build could be considered structurally sound, but a serious dicussion over a couple of Corona's determined that as a collapsing building would hit A4's head first, then Cathy and Mum were perfectly safe.
