Default Home in Sabal Chase

Our Purchase offer for a 3 bedroom Designer Home in Sabal Chase was accepted. It looks like we will become new residents of TV as of around Aug 19. We are from Albany NY and will need Home Insurance and need some help. We would like to find out what Insurance Co others are using and are there any we should stay away from. Also wondering what kind of cost we are looking at. Thank you in advance for your help.

I live in Sable Chase... We have ASI that we got from Triple AAA. They were very good to us through the tornado that ripped our house apart in 2007. Very fair and Bonnie at Triple AAA in Spanish Spring side if very knowledgable...Welcome!

Insurance: Talk to AAA in TV.

Costs: Go to the Nuts and Bolts of The Villages section of this forum (at bottom). Read the three messages titled Moving to The Villages.

Congratulations and... the best is yet to come!

Were you able to still get Sinkhole coverage? We have our insurance thru ASI (agent is The Villages Insurance Co), and have higher premiums (more like $950), but also have Hurricane Insurance ($353).

Non-Hurricane coverage (includes sinkhole) premium is $572. Sinkhole premium alone is $212. Our dwelling is covered at $180,000, other structures at $3,600 (guess that would be fences/wall)., personal property of $90,000. We also carry $500,000 in personal liability and $5000 in med payments. We have $10,000 in mold and fungi coverage. Also have water/sewer backup cvg to $5,000.

Very hard to compare as most companies' policies are not exactly apple to apple. We were told we were lucky that ASI was available as it was the best coverage now available in Florida. This was about 3 years ago when we switched it to owner-occupied when we quit renting it out.
