I will never forget the call from my son telling me he was okay. Reaction was, "why wouldn't you be okay? He then informed me of what had happened as I was totally unaware because the place I was working at had televisions but as a general rule, no one was allowed to watch.
BTW - He was only a few blocks away in a basement office, when the first plane hit He felt the building shake and went upstairs to see the first plane sticking out of the tower. Never forget!!!

I remember. I was working in the US Capitol. We were evacuated because they thought Flight 93 that went down in Pennsylvania was headed for the Capitol. The Capitol Police kept screaming over and over "run, run, they are going to shoot it down". The Pentagon was still smoldering when we were allowed to go home later that day.
On a side note-- We had several college students at church this morning. The Pastor asked if they remembered 911. They all said "no".

Urbana lost Alicia Titus who was a flight attendant on United Flight 175, which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. I attended with many Boy Scouts and others a two hour long event at Rotary Freedom Grove Park honoring her memory and the others lost that fateful day. Mr. Titus talked about the loss of a daughter.

I remember, and the families of the thousands of people that died that day remembers. To those that remember so well, why are we coddling to the Muslims in our country as we are? It's only a matter of time before something as devastating is tried again....
