I do not know about fingerprint recognition on pistols but there are pistols having a smart chip which require the shooter to have a bracelet or ring in order to fire the pistol.

The NRA is against this even for home owned pistols. In Rockvile, MD, last year a gunstore owner was threatened with having his store burned down if he sold any of these pistols.

I have a Glock it is not going to fire with out trigger pressure. Twice is hard to sell to any jury.
