Gators roam a lot. That Lagoon and the waterways around Disney are huge. There would be no possible way to keep gators out of there.
There are signs there that say no swimming.

The article I posted described an incident that took place on April 5 of this year. According to the story, after the people got away from the alligator "The Canadians caught a security man on a golf cart and told him about the incident."

I guess the security man either did not tell his boss about the alligator or Disney management chose to ignore the potential problem.

Just about six weeks ago my wife and I,along with another Village couple, had lunch at the Floridian Hotel. It's a beautiful property. So sad that this happen. So much sadness and tragedy in the Orlando area at this particular time.

There are gators all over Florida. They roam all over. That Lagoon and waterways around Disney are huge. There is no possible way to keep gators out.
There are signs saying no swimming. My heart breaks for the parents.

If you would take the time to read the Florida Wildlife Statures, it is actually illegal to feed any wildlife in the the state of Florida! These creatures have managed to survive for many, many 100's years without our assistance! They will continue to do so! Admire, leave them in Peace!!
Excellent timely reminder. Do not feed wildlife or play around lakes.
There will be lots of kids visiting their grandparents in TV this summer; please keep them safe.

This is a tragic, heart wrenching story.

It shows how your life can change in an instant!

My prayers go out to the family.
