Are we really becoming that desensitized to this? How horrible.

Understand now....the media is working night and day (or so it appears in watching news broadcasts) preparing to over Ferguson. Now THAT will make the headlines.

I will not be heading to any ISIS held or threatened area or Ferguson in the near future. I want to keep my wits about me.

These barbaric beheadings are nauseating. I wish they could be stopped.

Default Another ISIS atorcsity

I have a neighbor who is of the opposite political ideology. We tease each other in a friendly way and have become good friends. I have a saying that I use when something like this happens which gives him a chuckle, but in this case I think it is appropriate. " Nuke em ". I don't really mean it but this time maybe I do.

These are Americans or our allies. THAT is our business.

As more American soldiers go to Iraq, there is a very strong probability that some will be captured by ISIS. Also a very good probability that some may be executed by beheading by ISIS as a test to Americans to see if we have the fortitude to somehow "conquer" ISIS or to go home. What will it be?

"Going home" completely from Iraq has already been tried. That's not been working out too well. It probably fueled and fertilized the growth of ISIS even more.

Since 2001 or longer, it's always been a choice of containing the suicide and car bombings and IEDs and bioterrorism agents like ebola and anthrax to keep it over there, versus opening the borders and "playing nice", to invite the bloodbath and epidemics here on our streets, at more marathons or SuperBowls, or even at our military "workplaces" like Ft. Hood.

Like the ebola epidemic, keep it and extinguish it over there.

First, there has been no beheadings of any "soldiers".

Second, are we sending ground troops for sure ?

Thirdly, wonder why our large coalition is not participating ?

And lastly your question, which I get is rhetorical, is not aimed at the correct audience.

It has been quite some time since I, personally, have had my fortitude pushed to its limits. Seeing those Syrian children gunned down in the streets about three years ago tested me. If you looked hard enough, you might have heard about it.

A lot of the desensitization comes from the favorite "news" broadcasters not even mentioning such things as the ISIS atrocities and latest beheadings.

Here are two example screenshots I just took. This is a big reason for how opinions are formed, and for how ignorance can actually increase by reading/hearing the news on only 1 or 2 sites or channels in a given hour:

(see what's in these, about ISIS and terrorism)..

what happened to the mission of "dismantle and destroy"?

The words about hit the nail on the head...we have become or are becoming insensitive to a lot of what is happening, not happening and winds up as just talk.

The lawmakers and the loose cannons in charge count on the apathy and insensitivity. Until that changes there is almost no fear of us (USA and what they MIGHT do)....and those who have vowed to kill us all will do so.

We either need to do whatever it takes to neutralize the killers.....while they are still in the middle east....keep them there and truly dismantle and destroy them.

OR get the out and let them do whatever they are going to do and still keep them over there.......and do more to assure the safety of Americans at home.

We are making the mistakes of Viet Nam look like childs play!!!!

Not sure we are up to the test, and as for the media, they are basically all in Ferguson, where from their point of view the important news is and will take plce.

We have already missed the boat, in my opinion. If we tolerated in this country the slaughter of small children in the streets of the Middle East, then maybe we just do not have it. At that time ISIS was really a JV team.

I hear so much about how small the world is when people are discussing economies, clean air, but guessing slaughter of innocents is a step below.

If I sound cynical, I am.
