The Government will send an employee to visit you if you don't fill out the Survey?
I'm not doubting what you say, but seriously?

duhbear is absolutely correct... And the census bureau is not the only agency that enjoys paying home visits.

Yep, they do indeed.

What does the employee of the Census Bureau do if you say you can't be bothered filling out the survey?
Do they break your arm, go away in a huff, or sit in your living room until you fill it out?
Oh, I just had a thought. I bet the Census Bureau fines you and then you can't renew your driver's license, right?

Still, back to the OP's point. It's easy to discard junk mail.
It should be crystal clear that the survey is from the Government and that it's mandatory that it be completed.

Actually they can have you arrested if you refuse to fill out the form. Government run amok.

Yes, I got it and filled it out.
I worked for the Census Bureau in the 80's. The nice thing was I got to do my neighborhood so it was okay. Definitely heard some horror stories from others when they would go to someone's house.

It won't matter. I knew I made an incorrect entry and tried to go back before final submission, the program would not allow it. I did call their support number and they said not to worry about it they would use what ever was submitted. I asked, even if it is incorrect? She said there was no way to change it and it would not matter that it was incorrect!!

Working for a government institution must be very stressfull having to unlearn right from wrong and to be more open to the attitude of....what difference does it make?
