I don’t know, rubicon. We mortal “men” never know what seed dropped where may actually sprout, but I do believe in dropping those seeds.

These were names common in King James era and so they were used in that version of the Bible.
These names have been found on the dead sea scrolls.

Archeology has proven most everything in the Bible! How about the dead sea scrolls that have new testament scripture?

There is only one that was translated by the will of GOD and it is the King James Bible the 1st translation. America was founded on this book!
Please define "christian." Or better yet, define "non christian." Please. Some people say only those who are "born again" are Christians. I don't know where you're coming from.

King James Bible
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

It's not Christians that are saying this, it is in the Bible, and if you believe that the Bible is God's Holy Word, then you accept this by faith. For whatever reason the world has fanaticized people who are "born again", it simply means, born once in the flesh, born again in the Spirit.

And THIS thinking is exactly the problem with radical orthodoxy whether it be Islam or Christian or any other religion. It may be someone's believe that THEIR God is the only God and that THEIR bible is the only one translated by God...but it is arrogant and intolerant. People may believe what they wish but to trample on others faith and deem it false is not in the spirit of love thy neighbor.

As I said earlier, if everyone just lived by the Golden Rule, it would work out pretty darn well.

I see the new translations are different in some places. I think one of the biggest which could be a huge deception is about the mark of the beast.

King James version of Revelations 13:16 16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (in as in a chip)

I believe the King James Bible is the correct one as I worked with a person who helped bring about barcodeing and every bar code has 666 in it.

The newer translations say the mark will be planted on the right hand or on the forehead. (I think of something like a tattoo)
Mikhail Gorbachev, former Soviet statesman, had a very noticeable colored birthmark on his forehead. Based on the King James version of the Bible, what is that supposed to mean? Can anyone put it in their own words?

Jesus said he is the way, the truth and the only way to the father is thru him. No other religion says this. No way would a Christian hurt a person who believed different then them.
Who is trampling on others faith? I see a lot of people trampling on the Jewish and Christians faith. GOD is love and Christians will not fight back but will defend the WORD with what is true. Jesus is the WORD made flesh. It is a hard statement for people who are only flesh and blood. Jesus said to eat of his body and to drink of his blood. What did he mean by this?

Some years ago I found in my local library a fascinating book entitled "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism" authored by an Episcopal Bishop, John Shelby Spong. John Shelby Spong - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the book he delves into how and by whom the bible was assembled from various writings of almost exclusively Jewish authors over several centuries. He explains how these authors utilized midrash to develop stories illustrating the points they wished to make. Midrash - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I found the book quite enlightening about the history of the bible although I do not agree with some of Spong's far out social ideas which he expounds at times.

BTW, I find "The New Oxford Annotated Bible" to be a great resource. http://www.cokesbury.com/forms/Produ...spx?pid=835676

Are you familiar with the Inquisition or perhaps the Crusades?

I don't want to try to change anyone's beliefs or put down their strongly held views or opinions. The point is, there is a lot of confusion about what should be seen as the absolute truth and a lot of good people strongly disagree.
