Re: Comb overs by men
Boomer, you are far from the only one! I love it when a balding, graying guy makes a little ponytail with what's left in the back. It's pretty sexy. From the front he looks like a regular guy, then from the back you see the ponytail, and get a little kick that he's maybe a cool guy too!
BTW I hate comb-overs and toupees too!

Quote:
You summed it up. He has to be bald or balding. The hair has to be gray or graying. I also think it's just fine if he has a little bit of a belly. You know, last night it was almost midnight when I shamelessly confessed this little weakness of mine. And I really was surprised at the other confessions that were brought forth. Maybe we need a thread called "Midnight Confessions." (like didya see where Brightspot is in love with Willie Nelson.) I usually don't make it 'til midnight. Probably a good thing. Would not want to reveal all my secrets. BTW, when I took Mr. Boomer his coffee this morning, I brought up this ponytail thing again. But he just laughed like he always does. heisnotgettingaHarleyheisnotgettingaHarleyheisnotg ettingaHarleyheisnotgettingaHarley You know, I am not so sure that I always associate the mystique of the ponytail with a motorcycle. I think sometimes it could also be that whole artist kind of thing. And there's a bunch of other stuff, too. Oh, who knows? I do intend to keep trying to interest Mr. Boomer in this new look. But maybe I had better be careful. He could end up way too cute. Boomer

Boomer - I love the idea of a 'midnight confessions' thread...but it should be listed under Girl Talk!

Clothes don't make the man and neither does hair.

Re: Comb overs by men
hey boomer you all are making me feel better all the time. After becoming a widow the first thing I did was grow a pony tail and buy a Harley. I thought I was really going to be radical.Just the opposite. I noticed it seemed like everyone my age beat me to it, only I don't have a beard also. And I'm asking again, How late do you guy's stay up?, I've got two hours on you and your still up all night. Benj

Re: Comb overs by men
OMG! I love Willie Nelson, too. My son-in-law got me interested in him. They danced to one of his songs for their wedding. Then, Willie played a concert near our house. I ordered the tickets as soon as they came out. You couldn't choose seats - only sections. When our tickets came, we were in the front row. It was wonderful!!!!!!! We waited afterward to shake his hand and got a couple autographs. I also snuck a kiss!

You were so fortunate to have front row seats for Willie! He's my man! ...along with Jimmy Buffett (no ponytail) and Dwight Yoakum (no ponytail). Now this may sound strange but I only like Dwight when he's wearing that cowboy hat of his. Once he takes it off, well, he doesn't do much for me. I'm a little weird. Then I could go on and on about Richard Gere (absolutely NO ponytail)...pant pant pant...have you ever watched the way he kisses women...oh my I wonder what they all would look like if they DID have ponytails :dontknow: |

Re: Comb overs by men
Comb-overs to me fall into the same category as too tight, too short, too sexy clothes, combined with sagging knees and underarm, over the bra, back bulge.
A desperate attempt to hold on to what once was, instead of accepting what is. It spells lack of self esteem and no mirror at home, to me. As for Willie, we have tickets to see him later this month. Tom is a huge fan and I like him too. |
