So many exaggerations, untrue statements, unfound rumors, poor information and outright lies floating around.

Some people find good in things and share them.

Others vent their fear in angry statements with incorrect information. Some people only recognize one emotion; anger.

WALMART like other businesses are ordered to sell only food items at this time.

Sadly not everyone is intelligent enough to follow basic protocol. As an example of churches holding services, at least 2 ministers who preached that they and their flocks would be immune since they were so close to God, have died. In California, I think something like 40 people who went to church have Covid 19 now. As to Walmart being open, again I agree with the ruling, as the isles are wide. Small independent shops are SMALL and there is no way to keep a distance of 6 or more feet. No one WANTS the businesses to go under, but it's saving lives. If I were to complain about anything, it would be our government not taking action soon enough when we saw what was happening in other countries. At that time, we should have been checking our resources to be sure we were prepared for a pandemic. Bush brought this up in 2005 and Obama in 2014. Our president calling Covid 19 a hoax is like the white supremists calling the holocaust a hoax. Both shameful.

Our community (55+) should be the most vocal against this abuse of government power. Help the younger people to understand that this great country was not built on socialistic government control. Yes, they (the government) should apply all resources to finding a treatment, a vaccine, and informing the citizens of the best way to combat it. And yes, every individual and business owner should be free to choose to stay home or close it’s doors. And yes every church should decide what is best for their parishioners . But the government has vastly overstepped their moral and ethical bounds. Yes, they have the “right” to do what they have done only because they wrote it into their own laws and we the people choose to let them do it. But lessons need to be learned and the government needs to hear that they are out of line, else the next time they will encroach even further onto our civil liberties.

Let the shooting of the messenger begin!....
What orders were there by the federal government to close businesses?

When you were a child, your parents and teachers told you that you should stop, look both ways, and listen before crossing the street. This was good advice and you probably never got run over by a car because you did those things (or were just damn lucky). Now, later in life, you look back and think that was totally unnecessarily because you never got run over!

That seems to be your thinking here. If a complete disaster is avoided it’s because people take precautions—not because there was never a dire threat.

Another example that people like you mention is Y2K. No disaster happened because we spent billions upgrading hardware and software to prevent the disaster—not because there was no real threat. People worked long, hard hours to prevent it and when people like you make fun of it, you are belittling their effort.

How about the ozone hole? Many people like you complain that you want your Freon and it was unfair for the government to outlaw its use. We were warned that millions of people would die of skin cancer if the hole expanded to cover the earth. But millions didn’t die. Not because there wasn’t a threat, but because we prevented the ozone hole from expanding by banning Freon.

There are many examples like this. You really do need to quit watching fake “news” programs that tell you the be outraged over things so they can manipulate you into doing things that are not really in your best interest.

Take a deep breath! Ok now Italy has a population of around 23 million. The USA 2018 senses was around 350 million. This doesn’t account for legal visitors and illegal visitors so will add another 3 million. Now do the math and tell me who has the highest death rate percentage.
Senses? Hire? Italian population 23 million?

Have you not read about the Pandemic of 1918? Read that before you throw out all of your uninformed opinions.

Yes, this is a time that will challenge small businesses. However, I frequent several small businesses and while they may have changed certain aspects of how they do business, they are still open. Restaurants can go "pick up only" and for those that do, I am tipping 50% to help their staff. For those of us that live in TV, we should be the first to support those small businesses now and when they reopen. It is up to you.

Maybe the next time you post something, you will try using facts instead of emotion. First, the US government has not shut down a thing. There is not one small business in America that was forced to close it’s doors because of any action by the federal government. Secondly, in Florida as throughout most of the country, governments did not shut down churches. The leaders of the church dud. Thank goodness they had the foresight to close their sanctuaries and provide other means of warship.

We are a very fortunate community. Almost all of us have better health than the average American in this age population. Very few of us are forced to interact with the public to earn a living. And, even though our houses may be on top of each other, we still live in a relatively sparsely dense neighborhood.

For God sake, quit complaining and go for a walk.

So much of what you said is factual. Thank you for refuting some of the first comments. Premier medical still testing if necessary. Call, speak with a medical person and do video to see if you qualify and go there and get tested.

Firstly, we do not have nor are under any socialist governmental rule —the decisions you are talking about were made by Republican President and both Democratic and Republican Governors based on advice from all the leading epidemiologists in the country.
Secondly, The last pandemic we had in this country lasted 2 years — it was 100 years ago and we didn’t have the scientific expertise that we have now. Do you really want this pandemic to last that long? If not, stop making this a political issue —don’t listen to any government guidelines —but please listen closely to the infectious disease specialists who don’t take any political position, but call the shots as they see them.
