Default Tell me why?

Can someone tell me why when you are in any parking lot and you see 1 cart parked in a space and you see another park into another....

I was at publix today and there was a cart in a space and a women drive right into an empty space right next to the cart in the space next to hers.... there was no spaces for anyone to park. As I drove up & down each row, there were one golf cart to one space!!!! WHY??????

after all we are to share the road, why not share a parking space so cars can park!

Sometimes it is a newer resident or renter/LSV person who is unfamiliar with the practice of two carts in a single space. Other times it may be someone who just reverts to what they do in their car. We've all seen people in carts (not street legal) who pull out into the auto lane and those who drive their car in the diamond lane out of habit. Not in the case you described, but sometimes their are two carts in one space ans one leaves, giving the impression that a single cart took up a whole space.

And lots of time the first one in does not park far enough over so you can get your cart into the space next to him without crowding the line and causing grief for whomever wants to parks in the next slot.

I agree. This happens alot. I don't trust someone who has parked crooked in a spot not to back up and run into me.

Another thing to consider is that, in some cases, there may have been two carts in the space and one of them left.

Funny, just the other day at Walmart, I pulled into a space, close to the line, so another cart could park in the same space. The fellow in the next space got out of his large SUV and started on about me crowding his space. We dis-cuss-ed this all the way to the store. What a crouch

Re two carts in one spot....this usually works well, UNLESS one cart is parked so close to a car that the driver's side door is blocked. It's happened to me twice in Publix lot on 466A, both cases necessitated me waiting for the cart driver (more than 15 minutes each I may add) to move. Of course, they apologized...but they saw my car as I was parked before they were. Annoying...

As a not-yet Villager, I must say that unless I was told, I probably would park a cart just like I do my car! If I saw other carts parked two to a spot then I would know otherwise.

Default I like my own space

We have a cart with doors on it that open like a car door. I take up the whole spot so we can get in and out of our cart comfortably. Also, don't want car doors opening and hitting my cart. Kinda like when parking a car in a spot.....sometime people don't give a hoot about putting a dent in your door. I'd like to avoid any dings or dents in my new car! Just being proactive.

Default parking gc

I usually park my gc forward of a car door so as to allow easy enterring and exiting of the auto to my left or right. I also do the same when parking two to a space when parking next to a golf cart. Common sense is the rule!

If you stagger the carts, you can avoid blocking a car door. It also helps people looking for a space see that there are cart(s) there. It can get frustrating to see an apparently empty spot only to find a cart parked there. By leaving the cart nearer to the open end of the space, it ensures the car doors can open and warns others there is a cart there.

Taking one spot for a golf cart is OK if you're willing to park at the back of the lot.

It also prevents some knucklehead from parking his cart behind you and blocking you in. There have been posts about this happening at the squares.
