The autobahn isn't as safe as it once was, as more drivers are staying in the center lane on three lane autobahns, when not passing another vehicle. However, normally the left lane is still open for 100+ MPH. With the exception of trucks, most folks drive between 80 & 100 MPH on the autobahn.

You gotta love the German autobahn!
Why would anyone NEED to go 80-100 mph?? Sounds like a death sentence to me.

Why would you care how fast someone is going in another lane? Just move over to where the cars are moving at the speed you are driving or is there another problem?

Most drivers doing that speed are well in control of their vehicles, paying attention and much safer/better drivers than those doing 70mph on the Interstate while fiddling with the radio/GPS, or with one finger on the wheel with the other arm draped over the seat....or talking on a cell phone.

Or else they're drunk. But wait, I agree with you on this one On Track. When we were living in North Jersey close to NYC, the drivers were assertive/aggressive, but safe. They did things that would knock the socks off of most mid-westerners, but they did them in a swift, sure fashion, and it kept the traffic flowing, even if a lot of it was not legal.

I came to really appreciate the NY/NJ drivers (except for the New York Minute part...)
