Default Federal grand jury

Served on federal gran jury,,, talk about interesting ,,, we have a police presence in this country that you cannot believe.. Undercover folks that would never dream are part of law enforcement.... The cases we hear about are only the tip of the iceberg... Lots of justice done under fire so to speak,,,,, one question to ask yourself is,,, during the Katrina flood, did u wonder why all of a sudden the fire trucks were no longer fired upon?? The thugs and gangbangers ran like rabbits when the order was put out to shoot and take a report later! Cops were administering justice on the spot!

From a proud Amercian!

I have been here going on 14 years and have yet to be called for jury duty. Down in Broward I served approx 5 times within a 15 year time frame...I really enjoy the task and would love to be called to serve again...maybe someday....

Florida: (8) A person 70 years of age or older shall be excused from jury service upon request. A person 70 years of age or older may also be permanently excused from jury service upon written request. A person who is permanently excused from jury service may subsequently request, in writing, to be included in future jury lists provided such person meets the qualifications required by this chapter.

Also: If you have a felony on your rap sheet you will also be 'excused.'

My 94 year old Mother was called for jury duty! When I called to ask that she be excused due to her age I was asked if she was indeed capable of serving. Sure, I said, but you'll have to take several long breaks so that she and her walker can get to the bathroom if she can remember where it is! They then apologized for the silly question and said to have a nice day!

That's not the way I want to get "excused."

Served on my first jury many, many years ago, in Saint Louis. Subsequently, was called regularly every third year. But, never actually served again!

I think the attorneys discovered that
1] the first case on which I served resulted in a conviction of the defendant, and
2] I had a college degree, whereas most called in the city did not, and
3] the Federal Grand Jury on which I also served once uncovered many prosecutable cases!

Since I came to Florida just over seven years ago, not a peep from the judicial system!

I'd like to see how different things might be here!

I was on about 8 juries while I was in NY, even got sequestered overnight in a hotel. Nothing since I moved to TV 6 years ago.

The last time I was called, I arrived at the courthouse wearing a dark pinstriped suit, white shirt, navy blue tie, back wing tipped shoes, carrying a briefcase. Guess how long it took the defense attorney to reject me?
