Our Keurig is going on 3 years old, and we have had no problems other than scaling. Running a potfull of vinegar through it every so often works wonders. |

November Consumer Reports rated pod coffemakers. Top 3 were Senseo, Krups and Invento Cafe. Top rated Keurig was 6th among 15 with the Keruig B40 rated at 12th. CR said a very good model is the Senseo SL7810-65 costing $70 and rated 4th.
The fact an owner needs to call customer service on any product is a red flag. |

As he said, it's an expensive way to buy coffee. You are really paying for convenience here. For example, I typically get up and around earlier than my wife does, so I make a single cup of coffee (or two) while I read the paper or watch the early morning news. I don't have to brew a whole pot, and waste most of it.
In spite of the cost, those coffee pods FLY out of our local stores here in NY. My personal favorite is Green Mountain Nantucket Blend. |

There’s not much question that Stiller knows how to succeed in business. First he made millions in the 1970’s from founding and selling EZ Wider papers. Then one day he had an extraordinary cup of coffee in a Vermont restaurant and asked where it came from. He was directed to Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, a small Waitsfield shop started in 1979 by Doug and Jamie Balne. They roasted exotic, high-quality beans in the store’s small batch roaster. Literally smelling (and tasting) an opportunity, in 1981, Stiller founded Green Mountain Coffee and bought Doug’s and Jamie’s shop. A year or so later the Balnes pursued an opportunity to open coffee shops in Florida and left Stiller the sole owner |

we have had a Platinum for 3 years and then it stopped pumping water. Worked with customer service and it was determined the pump is corroded with minerals from TV water (we used tap water). Since the machine was out of warranty, they offered us a new Platinum for $69 with free shipping which we accepted.
They also said the filters do not remove the damaging minerals and highly recommended bottled water.....which we now do! btk |
