She doesn't engender much empathy, She said her sons were set up by the FBI and they were targeted because they were Muslims. A woman in suffering and denial but even so...not a person who draws sympathy.. She did say that salutation and I did look it up and it was unclear how she meant it, or what she meant by it or what it means exactly. Do you see how I am biased? I try very hard to see things and understand things without emotion and prejudgment... but I am failing miserably here. An open mind is hard to keep.

So there is supposedly an outstanding warrant from her shoplifting charge - will they arrest her when her little pigs touch ground??? And where in the world are the people getting this money to travel and transport a body??? Does Russia have welfare?

As a U.S. citizen, he cannot be treated as an enemy combatant.
Incidentally, all 16 people tried in federal court on terrorism charges have been convicted. So what's the problem? |

Maybe they're getting paid for interviews and licensing of photos. Hope we don't end up seeing them on Dr. Phil.

File this under good news. NBC News is reporting that 21 million dollars has been raised so far by the Boston One Fund for victims of the bombing attack. Ken Feinberg is administering the fund and hopes to have all the money distributed to the victims by July 4th.
Nice going Boston. You have really stepped up to the plate on this one. ![]() |

the problem is in the limitations on gaining information about other terrorists without a high paid lawyer hovering around "protecting" his rights. As an enemy combatant there would be no lawyer...no right to remain silent...and any of the other entitlements that come with civil VS military.
If you or a loved one was either killed or maimed by these two cowardly enemy combatants there would no doubt be less concern for their rights as individuals. When they embarked on their pre meditated mission to kill innocent men, women and children simply because the victims were American or in an American even....they are not entitled to the civility that makes too many concerned about the killers human rights, more comfortable......thats the problem. A very clear cut case of pre meditated murder of innocents. With no personal investment in the tradgedy or loss of life or limbs it is way too easy to arm chair quarterback the incident. Now the killer will live much longer and better as a result of all the so called "civil" rights. He deserves to be interrogated to the fullest. When done with that, since he is already self admitted and documented evidence guilty, a quick execution. btk |

From the Associated Press' Max Seddon:
MAKHACHKALA, Russia — The father of the two Boston bombing suspects says he is leaving Russia soon for the United States. Anzor Tsarnaev told journalists in the southern Russian province of Dagestan on Thursday that he is leaving "today or tomorrow." The suspects' mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, said she was still thinking it over. She was charged with shoplifting in the U.S. last summer and is concerned that she could be arrested. Tsarnaeva said she had been assured by lawyers, however, that she would not be. The Tsarnaev family emigrated to the U.S. a decade ago, but both parents returned to Russia last year. NBC News' Adrienne Mong tweeted this quote from Anzor Tsarnaev: "I am going to the US to bury my son. I don't want to blow up anyone. I want to see my younger son." Read it here |

Well, just like you, he is an American citizen. He is guaranteed the same rights as you are under the U.S. Constitution.

I understand your point. My point was the government (?) could have delayed charging him or used another charge to be able to continue interrogating him. We need to start taking advantage of open doors like this if we are to learn lessons that will keep all of us safe in the future or as safe as possible.
How do you feel about the delay in bring the Fort Hood shooter to justice? Two years, I think. Doesn't the constitution afford us a fair and SPEEDY trial? |

I am not positive, but I think the military court-martials are exempted from the provisions of the Constitution for such things as a speedy trial. _____________ The sole suspect is Nidal Malik Hasan, a 39-year-old U.S. Army major serving as a psychiatrist. He was shot and taken into custody by Department of the Army Civilian Police officers.[8] Due to injuries from being wounded, he is paralyzed from the waist down.[9] Hasan was arraigned by a military court on July 20, 2011 and was charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder under the Uniform Code of Military Justice; he may face additional charges at court-martial. If he is convicted, he could be given the death penalty |

Who is paying the expenses of the father? The flight and hotel in Boston must be far beyond his means-judging from where he lives. Yes, I'm judging. I'm sure glad he said he wasn't coming here to bomb. That's a load off my mind. That in itself should be a reason not to allow him on a flight! Will he need a security presence when he arrives?
And, why should he be able to see his son? Isn't the son a prisoner? I'm simply amazed. I'm truly missing something here because I do not understand how this is all evolving.
