Monk was my favorite, also. As someone mentioned, Breaking Bad and it's prequel, Better Call Saul are great as well. Blacklist is another good one. Burn Notice and Early Edition were also good.

Jack Reacher would be a great character in a series and sure need a big fellow for the part. No idea what they were thinking when they cast Tom Cruise.

Could not agree more on Netflix Lucifer. It is funny, crazy, who done it fun with a twist of British dry humor.

I like detective shows and such, but I am open to any type of series if it's interesting enough. To give you a clue to my tastes, in the past I've liked Monk, The Mentalist, some NCIS (the original is all I've seen), sitcoms and various other types of shows. I rarely get hooked on pure drama. Monk and The Mentalist which I mentioned above had something in common...very good detective plots with really fun main characters and a humorous slant in every episode.

Okay, I'm open to suggestions. Again, I will consider any show if it's good.
