This has been the culture for years and women feared if they said anything they would be blamed and/or they would become unemployable. I once worked for a very rich and powerful attorney and this was routine in the office. Fortunately I was not one of the pretty young girls.

We had an Aunt Lil who taught us all the "Listen Bub" Speech.

Prostitution is a many shaded sort of thing.

Dancing a side step and carefully maneuvering and diplomatically dealing with things takes expertise.

Moving fast and playing dumb enters into it.

I’m all for getting the guys who either physically forced (raped in my book) or used their power to force a female to have sex but I’m getting tired of the groping claims. As has been said, too much of a witch hunt. I don’t like Al Franken’s groping but it certainly shouldn’t fall into the same category as Weinstein’s power rapes. You go after a minor, you deserve whatever you get, preferably in a court of law. Same with rape. At the very least, you deserve to be shown the door if you’ve forced someone to have “consensual” sex because of your power base. Lesser acts, to me, deserve public condemnation, embarrassment but not necessarily more than that, unless it is an act constantly repeated and is recent. I really don’t want to hear that you were groped thirty years ago when you were 25.

I know I’ve been the victim of sexual harassment, once by an attorney who gave me a choice — sleep with him or find a new job. Fortunately, I was skilled enough and mature enough that the intimidation went no further. I found a new job the next day. Had it happened today, I would have reported him so that he could not subject someone else to that kind of pressure. Even so, I’ve never forgotten the incident nor my feelings when it was said.

Are you an expert on this? Are you insinuating that all these sexual harassment complaints come from prostitutes? Or do you have a credible link you can supply us with?

Nope. Just my thoughts, misinterpreted. It happens a lot.

Well said. As usual.

Exactly, you were "skilled enough and mature enough", not all the girls were and "if it happened today it would be a different story". It was a culture that I'm glad is finally being broken. The men felt they were entitled and the girls felt ashamed.

NBC is not as proud as a Peacock anymore. I feel so bad for all these women who are being hurt. If they found out yesterday and cut him loose immediately it must really be a whopper screw up. I think I remember him getting into trouble at home with his wife several years ago with bad behavior at the Olympics. NBC needed to make room in the checkbook, don't forget they have his replacement ready in the bullpen, enter Megyn Kelly.

The Today Show was on in my house thru most of my life and it was great. I stopped watching about 9 years ago. On occasion I'll go back for a day or two and see what's happening. I really feel bad for Savannah & Al Roker. Al is the man, he is almost as good of a weatherman as our very own Tuccillo.

Here we go again with the Kardashian School of Journalism ntion of news.

Suddenly simultaneously and across this nation the journalist, talking heads talk show host engage in trash talk that is being treated as note-worthy news

What ever happened to people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones?

What ever happened to don't kick a man when he is down?

what ever happened to speaking about people who inspired, that spoke to higher idea and goals et al?

We are a becoming a really sick society

Breaking: Matt Lauer accused of sexual harassment by multiple women

As the co-host of NBC’s “Today,” Matt Lauer once gave a colleague a sex toy as a present. It included an explicit note about how he wanted to use it on her, which left her mortified.
On another day, he summoned a different female employee to his office, and then dropped his pants, showing her his *****. After the employee declined to do anything, visibly shaken, he reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.
He would sometimes quiz female producers about who they’d slept with, offering to trade names. And he loved to engage in a crass quiz game with men and women in the office: “f—, marry, or kill,” in which he would identify the female co-hosts that he’d most like to sleep with.

After reading that Variety article, I’m at a loss as to why Savannah Guthrie is “devastated.” That whole crew kept his despicable behavior a secret for a long time. They all knew. It’s just horrible.
