That's the problem with utilities that are considered not utilities in other words your cable companies. Please note that 5G is rolling out and over the next year or two there will be a lot of competition from the phone company selling cable service through your phone in other words you can cast your phone to your TV that's what they're all worried about so for now they're going to try to upcharge everybody and make as many billions as I can

Xfinity and Spectrum already offer cell phone service, so they will be able to compete with the cell phone companies.

You didn't leave a phone number either. I think the poster wanted you to send him a pm (private message).

Default Cord cutting

Easy peasy. Find an internet only service provider. Xfinity, Century link, ATT.. there are many. Get the best deal. 100Mb is plenty.

Buy a Roku 4k off Amazon or Walmart if you prefer. It plugs into an HDMI port on your tv. (It comes with a voice remote and costs about $40 (one time purchase)

Register the Roku (you have to give it access to your Wi-Fi.)

On your phone or computer go to youtubetv.com (they have a 2 week trial and 3 month discount going). It will cost you about $70 a month with tax. Gets all local channels plus a ton of other stuff. The full list is on their website.

Once you open the youtubetv app on the Roku, follow the on screen instructions. There are tons of help faq’s on both Roku and YoutubeTV sites to help. It’s really easy.

Watch tv! You can put a ROKU on each tv and use your login to watch on any TV or computer with no extra charge.

You can add things like HBO, etc, but be careful, you can run your monthly bill up pretty quickly at $10 a month for most of those services.

I've been using what is called IPTV (streaming svc) for sports, entertainment, locals Orlando + another 500 stations from Hawaii to Boston and international channels. Unfortunately NO DVR it's $20 monthly or an annual fee of $150 equals $12.50 monthly been using it for 4 years minor issues. Must use an Android type streaming device or Amazon Firestick a ROKU stick will NOT work. Message me or contact the FIRESTICK GUY

For $1 per month extra I can get 100Mbps, which sounds like a good deal until I tried to lock it in. In actuality, I would have to sign up for $60 per month, then change from payment by credit card to bank account, and the rate would rocket after 12 months, none of which was highlighted in the original offer.
Get Quantum Fiber $65/month 1GB Internet and stream everything

Not just who you talk to. It’s how you talk to them in a calm manner. Nobody likes to be yelled at.

Can you put your account up North on Seasonal hold ? It could save you some money.

I used to have Centurylink but the connection was intermittent. They said the phone wiring in the house was at fault and needed replacing.

If Xfinity don't agree to drop the price I shall looking into replacing whatever wiring needs doing - I suspect it won't be too much as I only need one active socket for the modem to plug into.

I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy. They came in and set up U-Tube TV, Net Flix, and Show Time on a Roku. I can't avoid Xfinity for the internet, but the cable service is great.
