When I was looking for the best internet, I entered my address in the Century Link website and the best they could offer me was 3 mbps for $50 a month with a $15 a month modem charge. I checked it again today with the same results. I was curious why my section of the villages (the village of Caroline) could only get 3 mbps while someone else said they were getting over 900 mbps. |

Just checked on CenturyLink in my area (north of 466) and it is $60 per month for 50Mbps (but I can't see where it says that the cost is guaranteed never to go up)
I would also have to lease their modem ($15/month) or buy it from them ($200) and pay a one-time install fee of $99 |

I have a 2 year contract with Xfinity and have the triple play, which includes a landline that we NEVER use but it was less expensive to go that route. Then they bumped up internet speed “at no additional charge”. That was fine. Now my new bill was bumped up about $10, which isn’t extremely bad but the part that frosts me is that some of it is on equipment, the box I have in the LR & one in the BR which hasn’t changed at my house. It’s the same equipment that I’ve had for a few years….nothing new. Why do they raise monthly prices on equipment? I did go out and purchase my own modem, I no longer wanted to pay them anymore for something that hasn’t been upgraded…which is the same with the boxes…no upgrade just an upgrade in the cost. Why doesn’t the government step in on this kind of stuff that really does affect homes/families. Ridiculous

I just checked with their site to see what their "deal" would be if I signed up. They have only one deal for internet: up to 3 (that's THREE) mbps for $50/month plus $15 for modem rental. That's the FASTEST they can give me. That's the only option I can get with CenturyLink. No thanks. |

So you cancel your service.
And then sign up again with their "new customer" deal. Since I cancelled, I immediately become a non-customer. And then I become a new customer all over again. You just have to make sure you do it at the end of the contract year (mine is in May). That's what I tell them I'll be doing, if they don't give me whatever the "new customer" deal is for the next year. It's an hour of my time once a year, and it's a pain, but I plan for it. |

So for me the cell would not work for me. Using T-Mobile for streaming would not work here one would need more bars for sure. |
