We keep a photo in the garage of our home "up North" covered with snow as a remnder of why we are here now permanently and not "up there"! We lived through the Blizzard of 78 and we NEVER want to do that again....Wishing safe warm thoughts for all those with loved ones in the NE ...

I remember the Blizzard of 78 very well and that's all I have been thinking about. I truly hope that people use common sense during this dangerous storm. My thoughts are with fellow New Englanders up there.

I remember the blizzard of 78. In New York, I beieve we had 16 inches of snow on Tuesday and after digging out it, it snowed 17 inches on Thursday.

Yes folks, they were the good old days until today. I think we will get 18 inches or more today through Saturday.

This is fun, NOT.

I remember the Blizzard of '67 back in Chicago. It was amazing to see a big city turned into a white ghost town. We had 24 inches of snow in a 6 hour time period.

I was a freshman in high school in 78. We didn't have school for three weeks.

Packing to move to Gilchrist .. Came across pictures of my 2 year old (2/78)standing next to the slider ... The snow was 3 feet over her head! We were in Southington, CT, in a raised ranch. The drifts made it impossible to get out of the house. The drift at the driveway side went above the garage doors to the bdrm window. We shoveled from and into the garage to get thru the drift .... In GA now, can't wait to move farther south!

I got home from work at 1 PM. All I can say is it's a lovely day for polar bears.

Wind kicking up makes it delightful.

Will probably go out later to clean snow off the car so it doesn' pile too much on the roof. It looks like a wet snow that really s going to fall at 2 inches per hour starting at 6 PM. I predict it's going to closer to two feet of snow.

I am hunkered down for the weekend.

Please explain to me, orginally from Pittsburgh but a Florida resident since I was 10 years old,...... why do I see people on TV buying snow shovels? Is this the first time it has ever snowed there?
