I just had my 2nd cataract surgery and need reading glasses.
Bought a pair from Publix but they are full glasses so when I look up I can’t
see anything.

I am looking for the little half readers before I can get prescription ones.
Was not eligible for multi vision lenses.

Does anyone know if they still sell these and, if so, where?

You can order them on Amazon which is what I did. Did your ophthalmologist recommend a magnifying factor?

I will probably be getting the same surgery with distance only lenses. You said you will be getting prescription glasses. Will they be clear on the top and your reading prescription on the bottom? If I get distance only lenses for my surgery do you have to keep putting glasses on and off if you are watching TV and want to check your phone or read etc? Can anyone that has had those kind of lenses put in after cataract surgery tell me how you like them and can you see the dashboard when you are driving?

I just had my right eye done with distance lenses. I have been wearing glasses since I was 16. I have cataracts for a many years but they were not to the point where they could be removed till now. I can’t believe how well I can see with my right eye. I can see dash and odometer and everything in car. I can’t see things close and will need readers but doctor can’t tell the magnification until I get my other eye done. It’s like a curtain was lifted. Colors are so vivid and everything is so clear. Those clear on top and magnifications on the bottom sound great to me. Did someone say Amazon sells them? Good luck!

I just went through cataract removal for both eyes in February. I've worn glasses since the thrid grade, and was nearsighted. I opted for distance and can now see 20/20 but need reading glasses for up close and computer work. I found out there are multiple options. Go to the drug store and try on different pairs to find your best magnification factor. Then buy several pairs. You'll find you need them a different spots around the house and a single pair is never where you need them. They are not expensive, and you don't need a prescription pair...drug store variety works fine. I've got a pair in the bathroom, kitchen, at my desk, and beside my easy chair. I've got a pair of Ben Franklin half height readers in a nice case I can stick in my pocket when we go out to eat, etc. I've also got a pair in the auto glove box and carry a pair in my golf cart. I've got a pair of sunglass readers for golfing so I can keep score and have sunglasses on. With a little care, these inexpensive glasses can last a very long time. I probably spent $150 total on all of the pairs...way cheaper than prescription glasses and they work just fine.

If you want inexpensive prescription glasses, including bifocals, go to Zenni.com. High quality and way cheaper than a local store.

I too had cataract and lens replacement surgery, completed in April. I had worn glasses since the 3rd grade.

A few things to remember about those replacement lenses.

I got the deluxe lenses for near, mid-range, and far. Extremely happy. Still need help, though, in low light conditions. Bright lighting helps a lot for close up work.

At 1 month after surgery was completed for both eyes, I was given a corrected vision for close-up. +0.25. At the 4 month follow-up, it was changed to +1.0. I keep a pair of the latter around if conditions warrant it.

Yes, your eyes will change as the eyes heal for a few months.

In addition to those Dollar Store and Amazon options, a good optical shop (Sam's, Costco, or even the shop your opthalmologist/optometrist might have).

Also check out Zenni on the internet for low cost options.

Finally, it will take several weeks until you finally realize there aren't any glasses you need to take off before your nap or going to sleep at night. ������
