You need to buy the smallest framed glasses and wear them low on your nose, so you can see above the top. I doubt you can find half framed over the counter glasses.

I wear a single contact lens in one eye and it does the work of close up vision. It is a daily wear lens so I throw it out at night. They cost me about $150 a year. Yes, more expensive that readers but it’s like having perfect vision. I can just put on sunglasses at the pool and read without having to wear sunglasses with readers at the bottom of the lens. My brain does not know one eye is doing distance and the other is doing the close up work. Just another option.

I have never responded to anything on this forum before but have found all of you very helpful with so much. Thank you for all of your effort in making this a great resource.

I get mine from Amazon. They have a very large selection!

Amazon is great for non-prescription glasses. But, if you need prescription glasses, you should check out Zenni.com. I recently bought a pair of high quality prescription distance glasses from Zenni for less than $20. The same glasses would have cost $200 in a local optical store.

The best I found are at Publix for $30 Foster Grants that have a hard carrying case. Not half, but the best for me.

I now have 20/20 vision which is wonderful after 50+ years of being nearsighted. Now I can’t see close up - at all (expected).
You have to wait a month before you can get prescription glasses.

I will get prescription readers with plain glass on top so I can see far without removing the readers.
Also plan on getting prescription sunglasses with the reading prescription.

So far I can see the dashboard of my car.
I’m an avid reader so the readers are important.

Ended up getting the half glasses from Amazon.

You usually do not have mid range vision for dashboard or computer. Phone would be reading vision so you won’t have that either. You need to check with your surgeon.

Amazon is the place to be. They have whatever you need and whatever you don’t need. I don’t even care if I loose my cheaters anymore cause they were 3 pairs for $10. Good luck. I wear a strength of 1.5 since the surgeries but find no need for prescription glasses no mo. Good luck

Suggest going to Walmart.Try various glasses until you find one you can read with. After my cataract surgery, I needed reading glasses & ophthalmologist suggested starting gw/ #2.0 glasses. Worked! Can order them online w/correct strength.

After cataract surgery, reader glasses are needed when there's not enough light in the room.

I have three friends who have had cataract surgery over the past year. One friend had the up-close and far replacement lens inserted. All three have had complications. They all agree their eyesight is not better then it was before the surgery. Three out of three. Not good odds....

I’m not a fan of store bought glasses. It’s your eyes so they need the best.
Go to an eye glass store and get a half style RX glasses.
