Salt water pool
Has anyone converted to salt water from chlorine? Do you like it? Is it much easier to care for?

Re: Salt water pool
I have 2 salt water pools, one in my house in Los Angeles and the other in my house in Palm Springs, CA.
We converted the Los Angeles pool to salt water about 2 years ago and have never regretted it and when we purchased Palm Springs and it was already salt water, a major positive to purchase the house. The cost to convert really wasn't very high, although my husband was in charge of that project, but I think it was a few thousand dollars. I love swimming in salt water much better than chlorine, its been very good for my sinuses and it feels much better on your skin. Also, I find it nice to swim in salt water as the water feels lighter and cleaner than with chlorine. Yes, there is less maintenance however I still have pool service in both houses but there is a lot less algae to contend with. I'd give salt water pools a

Re: Salt water pool
Thanks Kathie. I think a salt water conversion process will be on my agenda this week.

Re: Salt water pool
I believe, but, don't know for a fact, that all the TV pools (at least those S of 466) are salt based chlorination. Much easier on the bathing suit and hair and provides a little more buoyancy (maybe that's all the extra happy hours).

Re: Salt water pool
Most of my hair has already gone to its great reward but this is good news for my wife.
A real aside here (sorry topic cop) but my wife loved the way her hair felt while she was living down in TV for the week. Is the water from the shower different in TV than it is up here? Softer, harder etc? |
