I think that gay people are born gay, not a choice but a given. I am not gay but I have friends who are. For some reason I like the term union better than marriage for gay couples. I am just a little old fashioned about that. I am not crazy either about the term "my baby mama" or "my finance" when the couple have already had several children. Just semantics. Just me.

Loving someone and caring for someone in a deep and committed bond is part of human behavior and calls for all of us to respect a good union. I wish for these newly joined folks the blessing of a life long union and the joy of respect and peace.

And hope it will not contribute to the coffers of the divorce lawyers.

Sorry, in my opinion, a marriage is between a man and a woman. Those who want to be together of the same sex should be able to but not under the Unity of marriage. Maybe a civil union? Btw, my nephew just got married in VT this past weekend to his boyfriend. So I live close in my mind to this issue.

Congratulations to the couple.

Our children will move this issue into true reality and I am thankful that MY generation will die away along with our unfair/unkind primitive beliefs and our generations prejudices.

Unfortunately this Supreme Court decision doesn't help Florida residents, since there is a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state.

Florida is behind on many social issues, but they will come around as the old boys fade from the powers in charge

I am sure that a single case or class action suit will eliminate this Florida unconstitutional amendment.

I'm glad the Supreme Court took a step in the right direction. I'm sorry they couldn't have gone all the way and declared same sex marriages legal across the board. Here's hoping that will come sooner than later.

"Primitive" beliefs? Well, if heterosexual marriage and its reproductive ability to keep the human race from extinction were "primitive", unnecessary and obsolete......nobody would have been born to produce us in this generation.

I was not aware that there was any props or laws passed to deny heterosexual marriages?

You don't have to be married, by the way, to achieve reproduction.

Today was yet another example of the social and moral decay in this great country. It is not the first thing that indicates we are heading down the path to disaster and if won't be the last. Our kid's kids are being conditioned to accept what wrong in the past and the line between what is right and what is wrong continues to get blurry.
What next?
