This is a great thread that the administrators just brought back up.

I miss Rockinronda, Chelsea and Samhass. No one can turn a phrase or add that zing like those girls. What a poet, that Ronda!!

Default Everything's Coming up Roses!

You'll be swell! You'll be great!
Gonna have the whole world on the plate!
Starting here, starting now,
honey, everything's coming up roses!

Clear the decks! Clear the tracks!
You've got nothing to do but relax.
Blow a kiss. Take a bow.
Honey, everything's coming up roses!

Now's your inning. Stand the world on it's ear!
Set it spinning! That'll be just the beginning!
Curtain up! Light the lights!
You got nothing to hit but the heights!
You'll be swell. You'll be great.
I can tell. Just you wait.
That lucky star I talk about is due!
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

From the original subject/title of this thread, my wife has said that The Monkey's song "Pleasant Valley Sunday" reminds her of TV.

In a thread, earlier, about how to describe the sweet, colored, fruit flavored refreshment that so many of us claim to have imbibed when we visited TV, I posted a video of Merle Haggard singing "Rainbow Stew".

When we hear these songs, we think of TV. The words don't even need to be changed.

Rockinronda:

How about modifying the lyrics for "Crazy" by Patsy Cline.. Instead of talking about a person subsitute TV.

When I am in TV, I could listen to this song a hundred times and still love it.

I'm crazy about TV.

Default Once in a while, this song does come to mind.

I know I will probably be in for some flak, but there is a song that jumps into my head once in a while when the houses in the Villages start seeming to look quite a bit alike.

I know this is a much deeper song though about conformity, consumerism, materialism, etc.:

That song's lyrics is mostly on target Tal.

We have the Camellia made of board ticky tacky.

But they do look pretty much the same.
