Can’t erase history
They are trying to hide the truth. We need to let our children learn from our mistakes. It will help them learn what really happened and help them make their decisions based on facts.
Hiding our dirty secrets like the Church and Boy Scouts did hurt so many children. It’s a cruel sick world out there. Children were not allowed to question. The truth will prepare them better to deal with life when they are able to question and hold accountable. |

Respecting African American history is very different from the white power propaganda put out by Hitler and his minions. And also not all like the hatred they directed at various unpopular groups like gays, Jewish, the mentally ill, gypsies, and physically challenged people. Roald Dahl books to remain unchanged after censorship claims | EW.com
Actually this just looks like a publisher trying to sell more books but getting a very bad idea about how to do it. It is just someone's bad business idea. It has nothing to do with the WOKE movement about respect for African American history. |

History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon, truth or lies.

Say it isn’t so? Will Plenty O’toole, Jenny Flex, Mary Goodnight, Honey Ryder, Octopussy, and the esteemed Holly Goodhead all be going away with Ms. Galore? I’ll need a double, shaken, not stirred, if that happens.

Astonishing and disgusting. I read all or most of the James Bond books several times when I was in eighth and ninth grade. I had to sneak them into the house—which was easy because they were all thin paperbacks. Once I started reading one, I was so engrossed that I had to finish it that night, even if it was 2 am. I found the double-entendres hilarious—when I was fifteen. Racism? Because of the Chinese and Russian bad guys? My best friend loved Fu Manchu movies back then. That’s just they way things were. Is it right to try to rewrite history? I taught a couple Bond novels in a college class called “The Thriller” that I taught for years, but I realized the writing wasn’t very good, and I found that sexism and racism and unlikely violence distasteful. It was also clear that the author had a penchant for sadism, or is it masochism? I think maybe Ian Fleming was a masochist. Bond always has to withstand a lot of pain. I don’t like pain. My students loved the novels, but they loved the Jack Reacher books even more. From a literary level, those aren’t as good as the Bond novels, in some ways, but they are also exciting. I was pleased that my students actually were reading fifty page assignments three times a week and loving them. Why try to sanitize Bond? What stupidity. Apart from my students twenty years ago, who is forced to read the books? A large percentage of the novels on the best seller lists today offend me. I read the reviews. Then I just don’t read the books. Problem solved. |

The fanatics are taking over the world and they have very loud voices. The rest of us shake our heads and basically ignore them and that is precisely what happened in Nazi Germany.

I want to be on the committee that reviews and recommends changes to the 1619 project "book".
