i'm baaaack --- kinda. as soome of you know, i was recently diagnosed with ;lung cancer --- maybe 50 yrs of cigs not good --- and i likelyy have copd. so chemo and copd have me a tad addled recently. now i told you that so this would maybe make more sense --- last wed i woke up late mornibg after 4 hrs sleep -- i keep weird hours -- and felt congested -- not an unusual affair. i went to the br to blow my nose and spit (ugh!). stadingg at the sink, i su ddenly fell sidewise into the br and hit the floor. i later found i'd broken my left radius. now comes the fun.

since no one knows why i fell, if u blackked out, if i was dizzy -- hell, i can't remember -- i've got my pulmonary guy, mt oncologist,

Dear Muncle, You inspired my post about helping out people that might need it. You told me in confidence a while back about the difficult time you are having. OK, you have outed yourself. If you need anything, you have a support group here on TOTV. Post, call us, PM us. We will be there.

SORRY -- I CONTINUE --- THHIS ONE HAND TYPING SUCKS
i'm baaaack --- kinda. as some of you know, i was recently diagnosed with ;lung cancer --- maybe 50 yrs of cigs not good --- and i likelyy have copd. so chemo and copd have me a tad addled recently. now i told you that so this would maybe make more sense --- last wed i woke up late mornibg after 4 hrs sleep -- i keep weird hours -- and felt congested -- not an unusual affair. i went to the br to blow my nose and spit (ugh!). stadingg at the sink, i su ddenly fell sidewise into the br and hit the floor. i later found i'd broken my left radius. now comes the fun.

since no one knows why i fell, if u blackked out, if i was dizzy -- hell, i can't remember -- i've got my pulmonary guy, mt oncologist,

a brand new cardiologist, a dietitian, a speech therapist, and of course a osteopathic surgeon With anesthetist. ahh there's the rub. osteo wants to operate asap with a general. pulmonary says no way you use a general on my boy. we nee4d to give him big drugs to strengthen lungs, but still don't like general. friday they all agree that op ok under local so i went under early pm. turns out the local not strong enuf so they used a general in or -- but not so deep that they needed to resuscitate. pulmonary still went ape on osteo --- don't know details since i heard it thru hospital rumor mill but i really believe all parties were doing what they thoought best for me.

anyway they kept me 2 more days --= escaped sunday. now have 1/2 hard cast with elastic on top. probably get full hard one --cast--- next week for 2-3 months. having minor shortness of breath issues when i get congested. still uncomfortable sleeping -- use recliner. my older sister is still visiting from kc -- she came because of the cancer, but that's kinda slipped my mind -- and will be here another week. my other sister moved here to duval last fall. my neighbors have been great --- typical of tv -- my sis and i were discussing that after mt big c diagnosis. had this happened to me any of the places i lived in 30 yrs, i'd have had some help, but nothing like here.

heard today from bbb and bs -- called me from frozen michigan --- and was told about this thread -- WOW i'm aghast. thanx for worrying. life's got its ups and its downs. i'm just on a minor downturn --- could be a lot worse --- oh, finishing the huge prepaid dental implant project is on a hold until we do a lot more chemo and radiation. i've a quasi-permanent gap in my upper front that you could fly a galaxy thru. but it will get better. any bets on whose house gets hit by fay and/or accompanying tornado?

Muncle, I only know you through your posts here but I hope you stay strong and you get through those treatments soon. I'm too far away to help in person but you will be in my prayers.

Geez, so sorry to hear. I also know you primarily through your posts, on top of which we're snowbirds and not at TV now, but rest assured you do have a cadre of good folk in TOTV who mean it when they say they're there for you and anyone else who may need whatever. Good luck!
