Those who identify with the Tea Party movement make up 20% of the total population.
Tea Party members are better educated than the population as a whole.
Tea Party members earn more than the population as a whole.
30% of Tea Party members believe the 'birther' myth as opposed to 20% of the population as a whole.
Tea Party members have the same age demographics as the population as a whole.

An observation - these conclusions are not the results of a conservatively skewed analysis of the data, but given their sources are much more likely to have a liberal bent.

It's time to realize that comments such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi's on April 15 referring to the Tea Party movement as 'Astroturf', not grass roots show either a remarkable level of self-deception or of knowing and telling a deliberate lie. I believe it to be the former.
Of course it is a deliberate lie. It must be very frightening to see ordinary citizens coming together in huge crowds denouncing the whole of Congress and the regime in the white house.

Default I Hope and Pray You Are Wrong!

Donna,
You may be right, but I hope not. If we have reached this point then the USA as we and our parents have known it is history, it is a disaster. Thomas Jefferson, put it best, as usual when he said, "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

I am concerned that Congress no longer feels the need to reflect their constituents opposition to Obamacare and instead this, in effect, "Trust me, this will be good for you."

Is there anyone who believes that adding 16,000 agents to the IRS to make certain you have paid for your healthcare insurance makes us less rather than more fearful of our government?

Again, I hope I am wrong, but, unfortunately believe my suspicions are right.

20 percent of the population as a whole believe Obama isn't a US citizen? Interesting.
