Default National Guard Gen required to retire on inaugural day

“The timing is extremely unusual,” Schwartz said in an interview Friday morning, confirming a memo announcing his ouster that was obtained by The Washington Post. During the inauguration, Schwartz will command not only members of the D.C. Guard but also 5,000 unarmed troops dispatched from across the country to help. He also will oversee military air support protecting Washington during the inauguration.
“My troops will be on the street,” said Schwartz, who turned 65 in October. “I’ll see them off, but I won’t be able to welcome them back to the armory.” He said he would “never plan to leave a mission in the middle of a battle.”

Nobody from the outside really knows why? With rank comes responsibility. Military rules are mainly for the soldiers in the field. just like politicians and their staff the .1% have special rules. Lots of generals and Commanders had to retire for reasons of responsibility. A few due to they're sexual activity which usually sweep under the rug with no financial/status loss other than divorce settlement. Where lower ranks suffer far more under the rules and age limits. Yes, I know this from YEARS of service under strict UCMJ rules with pristine record. I also been on bases and under certain commands that look for ever excuse to administer punishment. As for as the weekend warriors Why should they be held any differently? You don't make friends by ****ing off your boss where ever your in the chain of command. I seen changes in the military around 80's. Different mind set on orders. Too many why do I have to do that? Or why do I have to work this weekend 5 months in row. All questions I thought of but knew the answer. Majority join volunteer force for their gain like education IMO very few actually join for the honor of service IMO. Without these perks Volunteer force would be non existence. Price taxpayers paid for volunteer force. Remember that next time the non participating complain about taxes and military. Different world if your getting shot at and taking shots from both sides of the fence.

Trump is simply looking for someone who will follow orders, when he directs firing live ammo...into a crowd of his protestors.

The military now seems to be half single mothers. No wonder EVERYTHING seems to be contracted. Women aren't as capable as men...period.

Do you know how much doing that would save the country? Just about ALL the protesters are non-working minorities. Sucking at the teat. Better than sending them to the doctor so they stay nice and healthy and can leech off us even longer...

Maybe it's because he thinks that assisting with security and logistics for the inaugural is a battle.

Is there something in this that suggests that Trump had anything/ANYTHING to do with this? Why would Trump have a leader in charge of his security (NG portion of it) relieved in the middle of his inaugural?

Really? Does your comment make any sense?

Are you $hitting us?

Does YOUR comment make any sense...and do you ever read or comprehend anything?

Statements like this, simply exhibit that you're more ignorant than I even thought...which is quite the accomplishment.

Unlike in the states, where the governor appoints the National Guard commander, in the District that duty falls to the president.

This is the Dems/liberals doing...it's theater...it's revenge...it's to cause a stir...a commotion...trouble for Trump. Many things all in one simple act. They're making a big deal out of nothing. LOTS of people don't get asked to stay on. There are positions to fill with "campaign supporters". Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Hopefully, socially, we go back to white values and standards, everything else will be business as usual, money will be borrowed and spend and a LOT of Trump supporters will get VERY rich.

Being he's black...HE probably doesn't WANT to work for Trump. You KNOW what the average black thinks of Trump after watching that video with the retarded white boy. If you didn't see it...you should.

He wasn't REMOVED...the general resigned...Trump just didn't ask him to stay. It happens a LOT.

This is much sound and fury signifying nothing.

He's black, the libs are making a big deal out of it. They'll probably use it as an excuse if something does happen. Trumps fault there wasn't enough security. Even though the guy leaving SET UP THE SECURITY.

I don't think HE wants to work for Trump and the libs are hiding that and spinning it into Trump FIRING him.

A complete fail at trying to spin it away...from what it really is.

But hey, I can understand why you tried.

You have MLGBT slowly coming out of the racist closet and you're simply trying to nurture him...into becoming as putrid a racist as yourself.

Unsurprisingly, so far it seems to be working.

"Two military officials with knowledge of the situation said the Trump team decided to accept the resignation. A person close to the transition said transition officials wanted to keep Schwartz in the job for continuity, but the Army pushed to replace him.

And you have the gall to call someone else a "pseudo-intellectual"?

"Later in the day, the Post updated its story to note that Schwartz, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, had twice before offered a customary letter of resignation to President Obama which was declined. President-elect Trump however, accepted his resignation, and an as-yet-unnamed interim commander was named by the Pentagon."

DC National Guard chief removed from command - Business Insider

"The National Guard confirmed Schwartz's resignation in a statement released one week before Inauguration Day"

"Democratic D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson told The Washington Post — all presidential appointments, including D.C. National Guard commander, are either renewed or expire as of noon on the day the new president is inaugurated.

According to a report from WUSA9 News, spokesmen for the Defense Department and National Guard said Schwartz was offered additional time to transition out of the post, but turned it down"

"Schwartz followed protocol and offered his resignation to the incoming administration. But according to a senior transition official, the Trump team had not yet accepted it — and had asked Schwartz to stay on a few days past inauguration day to help ensure the event went smoothly."

Do I need to add more or are you satisfied that you...as usual...are wrong?

The guy DOESN'T WANT TO STAY ON. LIBERALS are making it into something it isn't...as usual..you are lying.

LOL

He "DOESN'T WANT TO STAY ON FOR A FEW EXTRA DAYS"...idiot.

You forgot to add this from your Snopes link...you 'lying by omission,' disingenuous pseudo-intellectual.

Quote:

“He wants to ensure that there is a secure transition between two commanding generals,” DC National Guard Spokesman Major Byron B. Coward told WUSA9. “There’s not going to be any disconnect or anything of that nature.”
Let me recap for you...Racist Boy.

As is customary for all presidential appointees, he tendered his resignation with a new POTUS.

When that resignation is accepted, IT IS the same as being fired.

To top it off, apparently he's the only one smart enough to realize that having two commanding generals at THE SAME TIME (even for a couple of days)...is ignorant and idiotic.

Or do you think maybe Obama should continue to be POTUS...and break Trump in?

No cost for the education...Racist Boy.
