Socialism is a system of economy. To call the military a true economy is ridiculous.

Voluntary enlistment and you can leave it behind you when you wish. Unlike socialism/communism in various countries of the world where you are born a slave and you will die a slave unless you are lucky enough to find a way out.

In a socialist collective each person is the same. In their utopia there is no hierarchy. Is there any better example of an upwardly mobile career ladder than the US military? Exceptionalism is the norm in the US military. In socialism, as Obama envisions it of course, no one should be more remarkable than another.

Oh the irony!

Given that the majority around here are on the right and are constantly name-calling, denigrating and displaying sexism/misogyny/sexism/racism/xenophobia/etc....your post is beyond being hypocritical.

Not that you had any to begin with, but that ignorant and myopic post just completely destroyed any hope you might have harbored that you have any credibility.

In spite of the supposed 600+ 'friends' you claim.

Now run along....before you start crying.

Every comment I make...I put my 'sig.'

I recall forgetting once, but I went back, quoted it...THEN put my sig.

It must really suck for you to realize that there are a lot more decent, intelligent and tolerant folks here....than you thought.

Sorry, but you're just going to have to live with it.

Would you agree that the military is government run? Everyone gets government provided housing, health care, and even government clothing.

Nahhh, she's not new here and knows exactly what she's doing.

Choosing only my posts and ignoring the resident racists, bigots, misogynists and sexists....is the big giveaway.

Completely unsuccessful in trying to bully me upstairs...she now tries it anonymously down here.

It must really suck to be lonely, fat, ugly and not nearly as smart as one thinks they are.

The PM's should start flying any minute now.

Poor thang.

I'm pretty sure it's you Sybille sounding like other people. I know in the last few years a lot of people have moved down here from the northeast but I think they had to sign a liberal opinion waiver.

The military has become the enabler for rich contractors who continue to come up with weapons we don't need at prices we can't afford.

And just because we have gov run programs, does not mean that those programs are American standard. You can wear Italian made shoes, but that does not make them American just because you wear them in the U.S.A. You can drive a Honda but that does not make it American.
So, make up your list if you wish. It I get a chance, I might comment on it.
Nah, you have already convinced yourself that there is nothing good about socialism and that we are not a socialist country. why waste my time with you.

Apparently, you didn't read the whole comment. Go back and take a remedial civics class, because you seem to be a bit foggy on your ideology and economic systems. Don't get upset though, because I am not an expert either.

I think that you will agree that it is because of our "socialist" themed programs that we have an ever increasing deficit. One of these days, someone in D.C. is going to suddenly wake up and realize that everyone cannot have an unearned middle class standard of living, by means of gov subsidy. Even with the mandatory payroll taxes going toward Social Security and Medicare the socialized programs can't sustain themselves. Proof of failed policies, regardless of the fault of one party or the other. Socialism is a shortcut to bankruptcy.

And you would be wrong on both accounts....sorry.

By the way, if you're referring to the young lady with multiple personalities, it would help your credibility (if only a modicum)...if you would at least learn how to spell her name correctly.

I too was going to suggest the proper spelling, but I knew the know-it-all on here would be sure to pop up and correct him/her. Your constant need for attention makes you predictable.

You would think that if you have multiple personalities one of them would volunteer to be a spell checker. Thanks for taking this seriously.
