But it appeals to the mindless mobs. They can soak it up and regurgitate it in the lunch room the next day and be somebody. The cable news outfits put on the puppet shows and profit greatly.

This entire fiscal issue would not be at the edge of a cliff right now if both sides would compromise a little bit with each other. I know there are plenty of conservatives who feel compromise with the Obama administration should never happen. These are the people ruining the country. Both sides have to begin compromising if we are to get through the fiscal mess just ahead.

Default romney is batman

to continue with the "evil bane" characterization of the movie, one could say that the rich white guy superhero, batman, is romney!

funny thing, buggyone, i read the post and felt that it was perhaps the stalwart senate democrats who refuse to consider legislation sent to them by a republican house that ought to have a sit down with them to see where a compromise could be reached...because without that discussion and compromise this handbasket that we are ALL in is way out of control.

My wife and I have been together since freshman in High School and the main reason we stayed together was "compromise" We compromise and do it her way.

In a mediation hearing the only way you can reach an agreement is that both sides have to be willing to give up something. Many mediations fail because it is not logical to want give up something. I've attended more mediations than I care to remember and can tell you I have been on both sides.

So given the complex nature of government and the aggressive nature of lawyers who dominate government I am pleasantly surprised anything at all is agreed upon.

VK has campaigned continually about not voting an incumbent. I have always believed we have had too many lawyers and need to have a broader representative of our society.

What do you get with a lawyer how about a 2000 page document explaining ObamaCare. Further look at the instructions that accompany a purchase. Those instruction received final approval once an attorney researched them for any conceivable chance at getting sued over the product in question, etc etc etc.

The Senate's Democrat Leader is foolishly playing political games. Nothing will be accomplished while he holds office.

The House Speaker is foolishly playing political games - holding hearings 33 times on the same subject knowing full well it has zero chance of even being considered - and wasting (according to CBS) 50 million dollars in the process.

Nothing will be accomplished while he holds office.
