You are so wrong on this that it's scary. I have received 3 emails from Michelle Obama and one from Barry himself in the last 3 days, asking for $3. (I'm on the email list because I wrote a letter to him a couple of years ago.)

Here are two I received. The one earlier today from Barry had "Hey!" in the subject line. I put it in the trash and can't find it now, but these are plain enough:

______--

This holiday has felt a bit like one last long, deep breath before we plunge into 2012.

This time next year, I don't want us to have any regrets. I want to be able to say we rose to the task, and got it done. We've all got some work to do right now.

Over the next 11 months we've got an organization to grow, voters to register, and people to get fired up.

I hope you'll close out this year by donating $3 or more now to help make sure we're ready for the next one:

https://donate.barackobama.com/No-Regrets

Thank you so much, and happy new year,

Michelle

P.S. -- Also, when you donate today, you are automatically entered for a chance to be one of three supporters to have dinner with Barack and me.

Here is another:

______ --

If you're going to be part of this campaign in 2012, you should donate now.

Saturday at midnight is the last chance to enter "Dinner with Barack and Michelle."

It's also a critically important fundraising deadline for our organization -- our last chance to finish 2011 strong and make sure the campaign is ready to compete with the Republican nominee, whose supporters begin weighing in next week in Iowa.

Please donate $3 or more today:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Saturday

Thanks,

Julianna

Deputy Campaign Manager
Obama for America

They have no shame, asking people for $3 while they're off on a $4 million vacay with our military aviation and security people as their private butlers.

I think ilovetv has come upon the origin of the story presented by the OP. Michelle Obama (Antoinette) is indeed asking poor and middle class Americans for a $3.00 donation while basking in the Hawaiian sun in her $2000 sundress on her family's $4 Million Dollar Holiday getaway, all at the expense of those she's hitting up now.

What can you expect from the entitled and clueless?

excuse me but there is no "lie in the original post". A lie is committed with knowledge.
This is one thing I do detest by some on this forum and that is their re-statement of what another says or said to suit their purpose.

It is so........political

Thumbs up

President Obama will raise more in $3.00 donations from the 99%, than Willard Romney will raise in $10,000,000 donations from the 1%, because he fights for the middle class.

Cool

What are you guys talking about ????? This is business as usual for all candidates!

It's a DONATION....if you don't want to DONATE, then don't.

As for the vacation....again, so what. All first families take vacations and it always costs the taxpayers a lump of cash. It just goes with the territory.

Willard really is his real first name. Look it up. I know it's hysterical.

But he "is for the middle class", they say. Sure didn't live like the middle class in Chicago. It cost $1.65 million:

I said President Obama stands up for the middle class, even though he makes enough to be considered upper middle class. Why don't you look up what Willard Romney's various homes are worth? I didn't hear you complaining about John McCain's 17 homes. It really irritates you that somebody can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and become sucessful, unlike the Bushes and Romney's who were born into wealth, or John McCain who married money.

I can't wait to see how Willard tries to portray himself as one of us.

I know it's bad to talk about the recently departed, but, at this point in his presidency, President George W Bush had taken 180 vacation days compared to President Obama's 55 vacation days. Look it up.

This was not "one bad post" --this was mud-slinging. As for "tar and feathers", none of the postings identifying your info as a hoax were attacking. If you can't stand the heat, don't play with fire.

Bush's "vacations" were taken at his own private residence in Texas and not extravagant venues in some of the priciest resorts and residences all over the world like the Obama's prefer. President Bush's staff often joined him at his Texas Ranch where meeting were held. You compare this to Obama's Martha's Vineyard, Africa and Hawaii escapades? It's very sweet of you to come to his aid, though.

If you'll check your facts, you'll find that President Obama pays for his accomodations himself.

Was this the same Texas Ranch where President Bush was handed the memo titled "Osama Bin Laden to attack US" on Aug 6, 2001 and he replied "Okay, you covered your a--" and went back to clearing brush? So much for his staff meetings.

FYI, all presidents travel with staff.

helen, heat is no problem. Once you frequent this forum as long as some of us have you too would recognize the commentary being spoken about.

Hell I have been taken to task in the past for stating if you can't stand the heat then get outta the kitchen. For that one it came back that I had a nerve asking people to leave.

So ya see...it is all in the eye or mind or keyboard of the beholder....and of course which side of the aisle one frequents!!!!
