Never met Michelle Mitchell. The Mitchell family did like a drawing I had in my Earl Wooster High School art show of the Spring of 1976 which reminded them of Michelle. I gave it to them at their home when thanking them for awarding me a small Memorial Scholarship in the name of Michelle Mitchell.

That drawing looked quite a bit like a woman I knew at Information Access Company as well as a Class of 1989 U of MN Law School fellow Graduate who is one of the best lawyers on the WEST COAST now. The last I looked her up anyway. I talked to her quite a bit about Michelle Mitchell in law school even if her response was usually "Why are you telling me this?" She was in a lot of my classes and was also a Student Director in Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners. She was near the top of her law school class too.

I shared it with the late John Picollo a fellow student at Earl Wooster High School. There were three Johns in that English class. I visit with the third one on Facebook once in a while sort of. I did not go to any of their re-unions though. Too many bad memories for all of us to deal with if I were there.

Many of the students would remember the murder occurred on my birthday. Mrs. Barbara Mitchell announced it to the class when she got back from recuperating from the grief and it was soon all over the school. I had mentioned it to a few students as to why I was so happy when I walked into that class on February 25, 1976. I had just got gifts the night before during my birthday party. And I had not heard anything about the Michelle Mitchell murder as the Reno newspaper was usually an Evening one. At least, the one we got. Reno Gazette-Journal - Wikipedia

Some of the others would be questioned in Michelle's murder. I was not. And police started looking into whether or not the victim had been involved with drugs, prostitution, gambling, etc.

We had a police officer who tried to help by speaking to the class but made things worse IMHO by dragging us into the sordid history of Thomas L. Bean. The 1963 Murder of Olympic Skier Sonja McCaskie by Thomas Lee Bean - HistoricalCrimeDetective.com

How do you remember what happened in such great detail from 1976 ? How do you do that ? You recollection is unbelievable Tal. I’m amazed.
You do this on a constant basis, have you kept a diary ? Or are you some type of savant ?

Memories with trauma attached are sometimes easier ro recall.

I see that Allegiance is up to his usual CRIMINAL HARASSMENT with creating new thread titles to stir the pot!

Someone you never knew was murdered. Trauma for life? Or an excuse for failure?
Tell us about you 10 days in law school. That must be a record for fastest dropout. Was it ten traumatic days?
