At the time I was curious and conflicted. My father was a racist and my mother taught me to be tolerant. While on gunboat duty me and a black third class were talking about our differences. He asked me to feel his hair. I was taken back but my curiosity had me touch it. It was soft ! I was so surprised and he knew I would be. White boys think kinky hair feels like a wire brush, it's not.

I cannot recall any time in my childhood that I heard my parents make references to a person's race or religion. There were two Jewish children in our neighborhood "gang" and I don't think any of us were conscious of it at the time.

I became aware of the systematic exclusion of Jews from some social situations while in college. I was playing tennis with a friend late one afternoon, and we stopped playing at dusk and just stood around talking. I had been talked to by a few Fraternity members about joining their groups, so I casually asked my friend if he was considering joining.

"I can't join," he said, "I'm Jewish." I was thunderstruck. I was so naive that I didn't realize that fraternities on a "Christian School Campus" would have an official policy excluding Jews. But it was true. My decision was made. Although I was eligible, I would not join.

I am now a member of a different kind of Brotherhood. My Law Enforcement career makes me a brother to people of every race and religion. We developed a bond that included a willingness to risk our lives for each other.

My family members are Black, White, Yellow, Red, mixed race, male, female, gay, straight, lesbian, Jew, Gentile, etc. If you pin on that badge, take the oath, and pick up a gun to maintain our civilization, you are a member of my family.

I pity people who are obsessed by racial differences.

Do they? Do they? Then WHY are they so violent? WHY do they live so differently? You'll NEVER find a 99% black place like the villages. You won't find a 25% place as nice as the villages. If they're "just like us"...they WHY are their neighborhoods ALWAYS dangerous and dirty? You can be poor and still pick up after yourself.

Lets go down to MLK Blvd and SEE what the 99% of blacks are REALLY like!

They are SO different...that they SHOULD be classified as a different species...Darwin would have...the people of the time knew it. When they were found, they were little more than talking apes. They were...Human V1.0...we're past that now. Past V2. We're 50,000 years of living in civilization alone.

You really must see when the 99% live...HOW the 99% live to judge them accurately. You can't judge them by the top 1% that you know...the top 1% represented on TV. You gotta go visit the bush to see what the animals are really like.

Why don't you wear that police uniform when you go down to MLK Blvd to talk with your peers.

If after doing police works for a number of years that they are different...you were either brain dead...or you're lying now.

Come on Carl...don't just tell us they're equal...prove it...show me their great accomplishments. Do better than the last time...some idiot posted the top 7 or 10 African civilizations...one was a city of 20,000??? And it wasn't in C or S Africa either. It's the land that time forgot and stumbled upon them just as we needed workers.

The premise presented the article referenced by the OP is based on flawed, dare I say ridiculous assumptions. It falls in line with the LGBT belief that gender can be eliminated.

In the end one cannot objectively continue deny nature

This type of thinking is simply bizarre Someone, something needs to shock these folks back to reality. We are heading for anarchy

I see and you can tell me which race some people are just by looking at them? I cannot. Some of them, maybe, but genetics is a tricky business. How about the lead character in Prison Break? What race is he? Prison Break (season 1 - Wikipedia)

Default Race is a Social Construct.

Although I do believe race is a social construct I also think there is nothing wrong with it. Everyone needs to feel part of something bigger than themselves. To feel pride in ones "race" or ethnic grouping I feel is not harmful. Think of Italians and Columbus Day, the Irish and St. Patrick's day, Germans with their Von Steuben day ! African Americans with MLK day or Kwanza ! I think people WANT to be identified with a particular tribe. It gives them the purpose of belonging.
If we were all the same think how awful that would be.

But to have pride in being white is considered being racist. Interesting how the left twists the subject of ethnicity to reflect their evil agenda.

We studied social constructs and the like in my sociology, anthropology, and communications courses.

Race is one of the more nefarious of these constructs.
"While we argue phasing out racial terminology in the biological sciences, we also acknowledge that using race as a political or social category to study racism, although filled with lots of challenges, remains necessary given our need to understand how structural inequities and discrimination produce health disparities between groups," Yudell said.

What does "phasing out" mean?

You know...phasing out...like no longer used. Just say "human"...instead of white or black or Hispanic.

Like they did with gender references...she...him...all replaced by them...gender neutral.

All part of the liberal Nazism...that they insist isn't... It's "just what's right"...but for whom?

That's well said Fred.

What is "black" differs a lot decade-to-decade and century-to-century as well as what is "white".

Because we're superior to the blacks/Hispanics and it appears arrogant to "blow your own horn".

If we were all the "same"...white...everywhere would be like the villages...like the top white European countries.

But alas...we're not white...we're a majority "dark" and therefore we're barely holding onto #25.

We the Europeans know which part of Europe of which we come. If I ask you, what are you you would say Irish or French or Dutch or Polish or Swiss or Greek or Russian or WHATEVER because we KNOW. Blacks DON'T, they only know they are African. Hence the reason THEY can get away with black pride. We are fortunate to be much more specialized. We know exactly which tribe we come from.

Much of that is because of the hundreds of years of the slave trade in Africa.

I met a "prince" from one of these tribes on the west coast of Africa. He was in my Minorities in American Society course at the University of Nevada, Reno and was one of the most racist people I have ever met. He thought that all blacks in the United States were inferior because many of their ancestors had been captured and sold by this "prince's" ancestors. I sat next to this guy for a whole Semester.
