Why should republicans be worried? They have one loser candidate that nobody can stand and another candidate that is so far out of the mainstream that he's about to take the whole republican party off a cliff.

I can't remember any presidential candidate that wanted to impose his strict ideological views on the country. I don't remeber JFK, another catholic, wanting to abolish contraception. Who else wanted to abolish the Dept of Education and advocate that everyone home school their kids?

I was under the impression that the republican party stood for smaller government. Under Rick Santorum, this country would have the vagina police department, the gay sex police department, the pre-natal care police (yes, he even said pre-natal care causes abortions), all contraception would disappear under President Santorum.

Does anybody out there remember the loser tea-party senate candidates that cost the republican party control of the senate in 2010? Go Rick Go. The guy lost his senate seat by 17 points.

Who is trying to abolish contraception? The point is that the government is attempting to mandate that the Catholic Church provide contraception in the healthcare insurance of their employees...That is a ridiculous request, to say the very least!

Katz...as a woman, Catholic or not, don't anyone dare to tell me what to do with my body but me! Contraception should be an OPTION for any woman...regardless of religion. Where does American freedom play a part here? Where do women's rights play a part? Holy cow...it's back to square one where women don't have a vote.

Katz...do you agree it's ok to let others make your choices for you? I mean ALL your choices? Or do you just pick and choose?

I don't normally participate in this political forum and you probably won't see another post from me regarding this subject. I just don't understand why women want MEN to make decisions about their choices.

I don't think anyone is trying to make your choice for you or any other woman regarding birth control.

The issue is whether you can force the Catholic Church to pay for it. Why are so many people not getting this point?

I'm a Democrat and proud of it! I'm paying attention. I don't understand why Republicans aren't paying attention.

It shouldn't be a question of "church". It's a question of women's rights.

It's not a question of who decides whether a person can have/use contraceptives.

It's a question of "Who PAYS" for it!!!!

WHO pays for it should be the enployer. Plain and simple.

If I am a follower of the Catholic church, I am not going to expect them to pay for my contraceptions. It is against one of their fundamental doctrines. what I do in private is just that...private. I doubt that the Catholic church follows up on what its women do or don't do. They are just not going to provide you with twhat you need to go against their doctrine. I don't blame them nor think they should do any different. If I don't like it, maybe I should reconsider aligning myself with the Catholic church.
As far as others making choices for me...too late! I have thousands of dollars taken out of my pay every year by the US Federal government to support many things that I would prefer not to support. I would much rather keep my money and give to the charity of MY CHOICE. Shouldn't I be given freedom of choice regarding my money? Who has the right to enter my wallet? Where are the Women's Rights/Pro-Choice folks to defend me on that one?!?
