Which one stirs up more controversy, the Catholics or the Muslims?

The "who pays for it" argument is just a cover for taking away a woman's choice by the male dominated Republican right wing.

True but not new. We have been doing that for thousands of years. But for the good side. We in America are not as hard on women as they are in Muslim countries.

I have not seen any stories on Catholics stoning one of their women for talking to a non-Catholic. But on the other hand, well you get the picture. Then how about the converted muslim in Iran that they are going to execute because he converted. Don't think I have seen any Catholics brought up on charges to be execute because they change religions.

Just food for thought.

I agree, Catholics are not quite that bad, but I can remember when to marry outside the church was not nice.

I had a friend who attended Catholic elementary school (many years ago, of course) and while in 1st grade, he was told by a nun directly that his father was going to Hell because he was not Catholic.

Because you cannot refute the Church's Constitutional Right to Freedom of Religion, the anti-Catholics on this tread are starting to vilify and defame the Church and it's adherents right here on this forum. It's despicable.

Now Now, nothing has been said that is not true. I will say again. Catholic members or fine Christian people, but the Hierarchy of the church is less than saintly.

The Catholics have a right to believe anyway they want to, as long as they don't make me believe in what they believe in. I get to believe in what I think is right the same as they do.

Not everyone will like the Catholics or the Jews or the "whatever" but as long as any religion does not use force (muslim) to make me believe their way is the only way, then what you believe in or not believe in is between you and whatever god you pray to. No one should be able to tell you, you are right or wrong and since no one has ever crossed over, gone there, traveled the lighted road and come back with what is or is not there, believe in what you want, and I will do the same.

There is no doubt that ANY group/race has it's non-saintly or not so proud of folks or dumb rules of the past.

As per usual, in this case the negative commentary on catholics/catholosicsm, a minority of specifics applied as a general, usually denigrating statement for the purpose of making a point.

The negative commentary in fact can be most certainly applied to any group/population.

I look forward to some day hearing about what the majority are doing. And right behind that, a discussion without dredging up select models from the past, out of context, usually, to make a point or start a fire!!

Default to get back

to get back to the subject of the thread, i as a republican can only speak for myself, but my only worry is now that the finest and best candidate Rick Santorum is showing the whole country that most american people care about values, manufacturing, jobs, the economy, and most of all their hard won liberties and constitution, that the republican establishment will come in with a brokered convention to thwart the will of the majority with their misguided belief that a social conservative cannot win....i have been a voice crying in the desert for Sen Santorum for months and now he is finally getting the recognition he so deserves. i hope all americans will start really listening to what he actually says, and not the out-of-context soundbites offered by the liberal media.

The desert is a vast and lonely place. And it gets very cold at night.

This thread will be closed... The discussion keeps returning to personal bickering and cannot seem to stay focused on a topic.
