Your posts were very clear and very accurate. I can speak with personal validation of what you are saying. I was actually working FOR the Democratic party and left that party in the mid 70's for exactly this reason.
I cannot speak to nationally but I know that then the black vote was being used and I left.
It continues today and you are correct, many leaders in the black community are waking up to that fact, and hopefully it will change.
A young black man told me in the early 70's he was afraid that his race would be used politically and I told him he was silly !! I wish I could find him now and apologize to him.
I might add that what the new message will do is lessen the tension between the races in a big way.
