Call it hero worship, dittolove, if that makes you feel better.
Everyone knows what you meant. If it meant anything else it wouldn't have the word "man" in it.

I defended him, and knocked what I felt was your flawed analysis of him, and you threw a hissy fit. I would say it doesn't become you, but..........

Well, the fact that it's his show means that it has a lot to do with him; he's a business man and what I outlined is just basic marketing.

Don't forget cleaver and calculating business man. He trashes anything that he doesn't hope to sell in his broadcast market. I remember years ago when he hoped to get a big contract to sell full size cars and/or SUVs. So what did he do? He kept trashing small compact cars. He called them "put-puts" and lawn mowers on wheels. And he ridiculed the drivers of small cars for "trying to save the planet" when most of us, I believe, were just trying to save some money. Did it bother him that he was insulting a lot of his regular listeners? No, because his goal was to earn some brownie points with the motor vehicle industry, where he hoped to score a contract to advertise full size vehicles or SUVs.

He is, in my opinion, a smart, but seriously compromised, personality, with very little impact beyond his few million ditto-head like-minded listeners.
I think you nailed it.

You haven't established how his show or his speech is related to anything you invented to show a correlation between his show and the consumption of fast food, as if that were wrong, anyway.

It's very fanciful.

Does that mean you include yourself as one who loves Rush?

It sounds like you're saying you think for yourself. You already had certain values and beliefs and Rush agrees with you. So, does that mean you're on board with his outlook concerning health and longevity?

I can't meet at the watering hole to eat junk-food because I value my good health.

Smile Do Rush fans agree with this one too?

Today, Rush said we can't have a brokered convention anymore (in smoke filled rooms) because there aren't any brokers anymore. "Heck, nobody even smokes anymore; we're a nation of freaking wimps."

Do you Rush fans enjoy that kind of talk? You may think that's just good ol' Rush being Rush. But I believe he says these things for a purpose. Just last week he said something to the effect that people don't just say things for no reason. Follow the money, he said. So, I took his advice and followed the money. Here's what I found:

It's him, again, creating an atmosphere and sending a message to industry. This message says, "no matter how vile, stinky, or health destroying your product is, if it's legal, I will proudly support it (and hopefully get paid to advertise it)."

That's why it's so important for him to make people believe that they have no control over their health. Don't even try to be healthy, he would say, because you will get sick and die anyway (eventually).

And, remember, he used to say that he was an exellent role model for the youth of America. So what happened? Now, if you don't smoke, you're a "freaking wimp."

He has an independent way of looking at things and detests being told what to do and how to live his life by "do-gooders".

I'd say it's very American of him.

You can't check your sense of humor at the door when you listen to Rush. Remember; all you Rush haters say he's only an entertainer. Why do you care what an entertainer says?

When has that ever happened?

If you can link to any violence propagated by Rush Limbaugh, please do it or cut out the hyperbole.

I don't hate Rush and I never said he's just an entertainer. What I hate is his constant promotion of an unhealthy lifestyle.

Rush Limbaugh mainly promotes himself. It's no sin and it's only his opinion and I'll defend his right to broadcast it.

Me; I go to the gym 3 times a week and have been a "gym rat" for years. Except for my love of adult beverages, on occasion, I try to eat right (but I'm not a fanatic)

Although, my partaking of a buffet lunch the other day gave me a good case of "food poisoning". It's why I'm at the computer so much today. My office is right next to my "facilities" if I have to run.

Feeling much better now actually.
