I don't doubt that Biden would be a fun guy to have a beer with! But I think Obama may live to regret choosing Biden over Hillary.

Barefoot, we are in full agreement. Biggest political mistake Mr. Obama could probably have made!

Peachie and Barefoot,

I am trying like all get out to quote what each of you just said here, but I cannot make it work. I still do not know my way around this software yet. I can get one of the quotes but not both. Oh well. You know what you just said.

And I know I just said that I would not rumor monger anymore tonight, but technically this is still the same rumor, not a new one.

And I just have to ask. . .

Don't you think that somebody has to be thinking, "Helloooooooo, Do-Over Time."

I am just talking strategy and theory here, of course, but I think that could win it. But what do I know.

Remember Thomas Paine who said, "These are the times that try men's souls."

And Boomer said, "And women's souls, too."

It's a matter of perspective. He was very well staged to be "professorial" - camera angle, glasses, et cetera - so as to make the interview appear minimal and "talking down" to the interviewee. The difference in his technique versus what Tim Russert or others who don't make themselves the center being, but instead serve as the catalyst to information acquisition. It all seemed chauvanistic to me.

Ok Steve I see your point...like I said weeks ago...I miss Tim Russert. It would be nice to hear his thoughts on this election.

I feel like we are now in a very tough spot. There are some very scary points to both candidates....and their respective VP choices...

I guess I am now feeling that perhaps we don't have a clear, solid choice.

I love Joe Biden...nice guy...good man....apparently a good Senator as well....HOWEVER....it is really scary when he says things like this....I feel bad for him too!

I also probably would sit down to have a beer with Palin as well...BUT completely disagree with her views on most everything...just a matter of opinion...but I am sure she is very nice....a good person...etc....

That is the way i see it, both have their good points and both have issues. The VP's have issues, i think Palin may have bigger issues than Biden. The thing i have never understood is, we all want the same thing out of life, we all want the this country to have the stongest economy, health care,, jobs,, kids to have the best education, all that stuff. But why is it, that everyone thinks that the Demo's dont want that, but if you ask a demo, they say the Repub's dont want that. i have never got that.. My wife is a Reg Demo and me a Rep. But we both strive for the same and agree on how the country should go. i did my time in service to the grand ole USA. am i worng for thinking like that?????????????????

This is funny because my neighbor and I were just talking. He a lifetime Demo and I the opposite. We both agreed we don't have much of a choice this time around

I was listening to an interview with Michael Bloomberg the other day. Maybe he should have run for president!

We're in agreement that we all pretty much want the same - and may even agree that there are multiple paths to the same goal.

We're on different pages when it comes to Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden. Gov. Palin has been on the planet 20 fewer years, but has had to deal with decisions and their immediate effect on the populace, and having to live on a budget (public and private). Sen. Biden has spent his entire working life as a Senator - an environment which is more academic than pragmatic - and all of his decisions have the luxury of the companionship (and anonymity) of other voting senators, and the Senatorial world is less interested in budgets than they are on theoretics.

Sen. Biden is a very intelligent person who is issue-oriented, but has never had to get his hands dirtied with making unpopular decisions. When very controversial matters appear which may place a senator in an awkward stance publically, senators in general seem to find ways of abstaining from votes or just not being present when a vote is taken. Mayors and governors don't have the luxury of hiding from or avoiding a decision. That to me really levels the playing field between the "thinker" and the "doer."

My spouse and I have joked that when we got married we were political opposites After a couple of decades, we both find ourselves having swapped viewpoints on some issues and more middle-of-the-road on others. Talking does lead to understanding....
