It depends...on the importance of the issue and how badly the kid wants/doesn't want to do it.

How IS this different than the Muslim call to prayer?

Who the hell cares!?

Why can't some of you just accept some things as they are. These are children who have been taught what to do when certain things in life occur.

A discipline fast losing ground in America.

Just watch all the fools at any gathering during the playing of the National Anthem. The ignorant, disrespectful, head up their butts are obvious by their puposefull disrespect.

Just like the question in the above post.

Why do we have this "disrespect"? Too many competing cultures. You have the gay culture who cares less about everyone else. The black culture, again, only care about themselves. Mexican/Hispanic culture, don't care. Last, and becoming a minority, the remaining "white" culture. We're too fractured and we won't recover. We're the minority from age 6 down. THAT America is gone for good.

You'll be standing for a lot of things you never thought you would...soon.

I don't know of any military brat that doesn't automatically freeze for Taps when on base. It is absolutely mandatory. Actually, I was surprised to see the kids moving at all, especially the oldest girl who moved up to claim the swing. That would have gotten us in the house and some sort of punishment right then and there.

I'm a card-carrying liberal but my grandson knows to stop, remove cap and put hand over heart when he sees the colors or hears the anthem, at least when he's with his Nana.

If you don't teach your kids respect when they are young, this is what you get whet they are older.

That implies rolling over and yielding to values that may most likely be lessor than those I inherited, fought for and still believe.

We have lived a good life with the high standards we inherited and were taught.

No. There is no need for compromise on my part or family members and most friends.....we simply do not subscribe to the lessor values of today.

I look forward to becoming a part of the minority. If we as a minority can get away with what has been demonstrated by special interest groups and minorities to date....we will be just fine. It will be our turn to get our due and thumb our nose at the new majority....like they did.

You're joking right? You assume the government is still occupied by white people with justice in mind. The government will be THEM. They'll be the majority and they'll elect their people. There will be nobody to protect you. You'll be treated worse than you are now when you go into their part of town. They blame us for everything wrong with their lives.

Prognosticating.

Big difference.

We'll meet here in 30 years and see who's right.

Does the present and future bother you?
