She was supposed to have a P.E.T. scan every five years to make sure it hasn't returned. It used to be covered but we were in for a shock when we got a bill for $9K because they no longer cover it. I called them and they said it was due to Obamacare, whatever that means. They used to cheerfully cover all of our tests and labs.
My daughter's deductible went up thousands of dollars per year.
Our copay went up 50% on hospital in-patient and out-patient services.

I heard someone on here, probably on another thread insist that due to Obamacare, premiums had risen less than before. BS! I've never seen premiums go up at such high percentage rates in my lifetime.

Fact check time.

Slower Premium Growth Under Obama

Quote:

The average employer-sponsored family premium has gone up by $4,154 under Obama, from 2008, before he took office, to 2014, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation’s annual employer survey conducted with the Health Research & Educational Trust. The catch? That’s relatively slow growth for premiums.

The RNC may cast it as bad news, but it’s an improvement compared with the growth in premiums before Obama took office.

Under Bush, the average family premiums (including both what employers and employees pay) went up $4,677 in his last six years in office, from 2002 to 2008, an increase of 58 percent. That $4,154 growth under Obama is a 33 percent increase. If we look at Bush’s first six years, the discrepancy gets even bigger:

From 2000, the year before Bush was first inaugurated, to 2006, the average family premium went up $5,042, or an increase of 78 percent.
(See Exhibit 1.11 on page 31 of the KFF report for these numbers.)

Health premiums after Obamacare? They’re lower.

Sorry to burst your bubble (purposeful lying?), but that's why some of us prefer actual facts instead of simply believing someone's opinion who has an agenda...and who are given their talking points by suspect sources or massive e-mails meant to incite anger.

Please forgive us.

Good luck convincing us that pay private insurance, that the increase is lower than before. I happen to have my leave and earning statements from previous years and can prove that some of us are paying a lot more. For instance, in one year, our hospital co-payment went up fifty percent. My daughter's insurance deductible went from $6000 to about $13000 per year. Our doctor visit co-payment went up about 17% in one year. So, you can go by gov supplied numbers and I will go by real time proof of one that pays it. And, services provided have been cut back. Tests that my wife received for her cancer are no longer covered.

But, what does one expect from blind liberals that will support a criminal felon for the most important job in the world. And they expect respect.

While in hindsight Obama should have qualified that statement with "as long as your health provider doesn't change the rules on you," the fact of the matter is that it was the provider that made you change doctors.

That they could blame Obamacare and divert the blame for their own shenanigans...was simply a bonus.

Keeping Your Health Plan
Quote:

That’s because most Americans are covered by plans through their jobs, and nothing in the health care law prohibited employers from dropping coverage or changing health plans as they have been able to previously. Before the health care bill even became law, the Congressional Budget Office projected that up to 10 million people who otherwise would have been covered by employer-provided plans would not be offered coverage under one Democratic proposal.

The health care law also sets minimum standards for insurance coverage, requiring that all health plans cover mental health benefits, prescription drug coverage, vaccinations, dental and vision care for children, maternity care for women, and more.

The upgrades mean that some plans that were inexpensive for purchasers — but didn’t cover the required benefits — would eventually cease to exist.

While Obama is certainly far from being a 'saint,' facts are facts...regardless of how inconvenient they may be to an agenda.

You were getting off cheap, now you're probably paying what you should have been. Do you like the part of Obamacare where there are no pre-existing conditions and insurance companies not being able to cancell you?
