Nope. The nut job, Adam Lanza, was not a legal gun owner...his mother was a legal gun owner, and she was reckless to allow him to have access to the guns(he had a development disorder).

You need to visit the NRA website a little more often. They have plenty of information explaining gun ownership and safety, they have more than the "hunter argument".

Reducing the number of rounds in a magazine, will not reduce the gun violence. Take Adam Lanza's first victim, his mother, was shot 4 times in the head with a bolt action rifle. The Savage MKii magazine is only 10 rounds. She was most likely dead with the first round and he just put 3 more in her due to emotional "over kill". Another thing to consider; there are many areas in the country that already restrict the magazine size, I challenge you to prove those places are any safer than places that do not have the limit (Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, DC).

There are plenty of restrictions for firearms. The person has to be registered in the state (that process is supposed to eliminate the nut jobs trying to legally own firearms). There is a process of documentation for purchasing the firearm, there is a waiting period to reduce the chance someone is purchasing with emotional plans to do harm to someone else...

1600 a year?
Will taking guns away from everyone reduce the number of woman killed by spouse, ex spouse, or other males in their life...No. They are going to stab her, strangle her, run her over with the car, push her off a cliff on vacation...

Gun violence...MOST violence...is a black/Hispanics problem. It's THEM...THEY are the problem. With OR without guns.

Copuff,

Laws pertaining to driving?

Ok, even though the car is the example you wish to use, we can make a comparison.

You can't speed on the highway, but you can speed at the race track.
You can't shoot within the city but you can shoot at the range.

You can't drink and drive.
You can't drink and carry.

You have to have a permit to drive.
You have to have a permit to carry.

You have to be a certain age to drive.
You have to be a certain age to carry.

You cannot threaten people with your car.
You cannot threaten people with your gun.

There is no limit to the fuel you may carry.
Why should there be a limit to how much ammo you can load?

There is no law limiting the speed a car could operate (limited only by the speed limit of the road).
Why should there be a limit to how fast a gun can fire a round under the law?

The point they ALL miss is that the Amendment was put there..."An organized militia, the right to bear ARMS, shall NOT be infringed"...is to keep the GOVERNMENT afraid of the people and not the other way around. WE were supposed to be the Army. Our "rulers" should FEAR what we will do should they "screw us". And screw us they have...to the tune of $20 trillion and a $ trillion a year. Going into their pockets. They've made the public impotent.

It's not totally their fault. The half of the country that pays no taxes vote to decide how much the other half should pay with their taxes and how it should be redistributed. The voter does not get off the hook of responsibility.

The second amendment is NOT about hunting. Although, hunting with a weapon is protected by the second amendment.

Automatic weapons are illegal unless a special federal license is obtained. If you know of any murders perpetrated by automatic weapons, then they were illegally obtained. Limiting the amount of ammo in a magazine hardly makes a difference in murder. Mass shootings are an exception and not a norm, so making laws that hinder gun ownership is not much difference than attempting to change the laws to the weight and material of an auto that might be used in a mass murder by auto.
There are millions of guns in America. There will always be a few crazies living among over 300 million in our population.
We have common sense gun laws. Dealers are required to submit a background check. Training is required in most states before issuing a concealed carry permit. No guns in bars, gov buildings and public schools, etc. All they have to do is enforce the existing laws.

Just like immigration laws. You can have all the protection of the laws on paper you want, but if you don't enforce them, then the people become victims.
Look you and I are on different tracks.... I did acknowledge you have the right to bear arms and I meant that. I have been civil no reason to attack.

Why don't you take a look at the number of women killed by men? In the case of murder suicide do women kill the husband or is, in most cases the other way around?

I have heard that enforce the current law before so what are you talking about....

I was threatened by a white male with a gun!

Colorado is an open carry state now and shortly after that a women in Colorado Springs called 911 to report a man walking around carrying a gun. The 911 operator told her that was legal now. A few minutes later 4 people were dead including the shooter.

A couple of days later a man walked into Planned Parenthood shot the place up leaving 3 dead including a police officer!

I know many of us are worried about the number of shooting deaths in the United States. I am worried about the amount of gun violence against women! Here in The Villages we had a Murder Suicide by a Husband against his wife.

We have a right to be worried given the amount of gun violence.

Is this a weenie joke? You bet its a weenie joke!

There are still problems with restrictions as mentally ill people still get guns, for example, the wack job that shot up the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood and killed 3 which is about 1.5 miles from my house out there. He is NUTS and he had gun. After an investigation the gun he had was NOT legally obtained. Did he get it from a gun show?

You are probably right about the wife killing thing as in Colorado we have already had the POT MADE ME DO IT DEFENSE It failed

Here is a link to one article on the subject:

I am unaware of any law that would prevent him from committing violence...other than if your a nut job you are locked up.

The SMART lawmakers make the twisted, one sided, thieving, corrupt laws that they voted for. I blame the politicians.

WHAT "choice" do we really have? The D party puts their "bought and paid for" guy up there...the R party puts their "bought and paid for" guy up there...what CHOICE do we have? EVERY time it the choice between the LESSER EVIL.

The ONLY fault with the public is voting for a D or an R...the rest...the looting of the treasury...that happens automatically. They vote that way because the system pushed them into thinking it's the ONLY viable choice.

Everything you wrote about...is a drop in the bucket compared to the violence committed by the minorities...fully 80% of ALL violence...including against women...is committed by MINORITIES. Blacks and Hispanics commit 80% of crime.

You worry about the wrong people. Do you think you're safer in a planned parenthood office or MLK Blvd? You're safer ANYWHERE than you are on MLK Blvd.
