We bought a reconditioned 2009 Club Car on January 16th from "Golf Carts and More" in Summerfield. It has has a sudden loss of power problem since the first week! We have had them take it back to their shop 4 times and still they cannot fix the problem. Today we asked for our money back and they offered a credit towards another cart. Do we have any recourse??? I do not want to deal with this company any more as I have no faith in their mechanics' abilities. I have been stuck in intersections, on the golf cart bridge and other assorted places with NO power!! Help!!

Sorry, have no idea. Think this is something that you might want to (1) change the title since it is not golf cart repair advice you're seeking, (2) put it in the legal forum and (3) consider talking to an attorney to find out what your recourse is. I wish you luck.
Another alternative would be to take the cart to an independent mechanic. It might be a very simple fix.

Depending on your sales contract you might be able to go to small claims court.
I think I would take the credit and hope this was just an un fixable problem and will not repeat. |

You can go through small claims court and continue with all the hassles of dealing with the dealer or, you can call Todd Casey Golf Cart Repairs.
Todd will look it over and give you an honest evaluation of what the problem is. He will tell you what it will cost to fix it and fix it right. He comes to your house and will stand behind his work. You'd be paying for something that you should;t have to but you'll get your cart up and running and get this all behind you.

Before you jump to lawyers and lawsuits, try this approach. Contact the seller again and tell them that you have given them 4 chances at repair and at this time you want to take it to someone who is trained in golf car repair and if they will pay for the repair. Very simple approach, and if they are an upstanding seller, they will just agree to it and may even give you the name of someone they trust.

Why don't you explain any and all symptoms, when it quits running after a bit of time does it start back up again or does it need to be charged what actually happens?

As to the legal aspects. There has to be laws on the books to protect you especially since this is a recent purchased. I would not waste my time with BBB because all they do is record the complaint and for that stated purpose your better to complain to Senior v Crimes. I would writ them a letter explaining that unless they acted upon your demands immediately you would file a small claims action If this were me i would have lost confidence in this company and would not accept credit toward another cart (i.e trust has been breached) I ran into a shady golf cart dealer and wished I had acted sooner. Needless to say his bad dealings put him out of business and I am told one customer put him down on the floor. I wouldn't advise the later action or he might be suing you Best ofluck and so sorry you are having difficulty |

I would take it to Cart World in Lady Lake. They are the Club Car dealer.
