Lots of similarities there, in refusing to hear that there could possibly be another side to the story.
I don't think many are refusing to hear or agree with responsible pet ownership. Maybe we're just all tired of being lumped into the same category and being preached to as we are by some in the health category.

How does anybody know what kind of dog owner the OP is? Why the nasty comment? OP was trying to do the right thing. The nasty commenter was out of line.

How on earth does a simple respectful request for information by Lesdavenator turn into criticism of "zealous dog lovers".

Thanks. Leslie
First, Welcome to the villages.
Second, we have cats, surrounded by people with dogs, NO problem!! I often see them walking their dogs, and often stop and talk to them and pet the dogs (if the dog allows), and all of these people have been very carefully about picking up poop. So we coexist very well, I think that this is all that is required, covenants as mentioned before typically limit you to 2 pets.
You will find lots of other dog lovers, and will typically find several other s walking their dogs in the neighborhoods, it is remarkable that most of the dogs I have observed are very well behaved with both humans and other dogs.
Hope you and pooch enjoy your new life in TV.
