I can't even explain how I feel. We have our little piece of paradise sitting there and we can't enjoy it ??? ??? ??? Once we move in it will take a crow bar to get me out, that's for sure.

Johnny,
Once you move in tho your in for good!! No leaving anymore unless by choice! Its sure worth the agony of the wait, can you imagine how it feels for us snowbirds to finally get settled in and loving life and then have to go back North!!!! Knowing that it will be months and months until we can come back???? ARGGGGGGGGGG! its maddening for sure!

Hope this makes you feel a little better.

You are so right Nonie. It will be so worth it once we get there and thanks I do feel better now. We think of Giovanni or Giovanna every night. We definitely are going to rescue a greyhound. Do you think he or she can learn their new name over time? Is it okay to change their name or will that hurt the animals personality? It's because of all the new things we are going to experience, golf cart, Giovanni, furnishing the villa, tennis, bowling, softball, the squares, the pools, etc. only makes it harder to wait. I guess in the end it will make us appreciate our life that much more and keep me out of the "Where have all the buffalo's gone" threads where you can get into some deep trouble. Thanks again Nonie for your boost of confidence. So nice to have you as friend.

Johnny, you don't have to explain how you feel. Many of us feel exactly the same. I love TV, and spent six months there in my Courtyard Villa having a great time. It was agonizing to have to return to Canada. Now I watch from afar.

I feel like a 3rd grader who has been put into Grade 2 while all her friends go into Grade 4. Or something. Oh heck, I just miss TV.

Bf, you are a special case in the sense that you have no choice. You are facing the law of the land and your family must hurt doubly because of it. Once we get over this bump we will be TV's as long as the good Lord let's us live. In your case absence makes the heart grow fonder to the TV'ers you leave behind every 6 month's, and that is a good thing. Imagine if you had to wait one year. I guess things could always, always be worse.

Absolutely, Johnny, things could be way, way, way worse. I remind myself of that daily (I also remind Nonie who is finding it hard to be away from TV)! I really wasn't intending to complain. I'd be willing to bet that most TOTVers have a lifestyle that would be the envy of most people. I have many blessings in my life and I am filled with gratitude for them. I miss TV and the friends I made, but Canada is beautiful also, and I have many friends here. And a summer cottage on a Lake. I am a very lucky person and I actually keep a Gratitude Journal to remind myself to stay positive.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder, and I will be very excited when October comes.

Thanks for speaking for me Bare, cause I am hardly speaking these days at all.

We are getting close though. Contractor left yesterday. Stuff to keep, is in storage, more will follow. Staging of the house is in process...room by room, etc, etc. Garage sale stuff is flooding the garage, soon to go away, one way or another). Cleaning crew is hired and poised for attack. Neighbors are looking for buyers for us now and we will be having an Open House just for them and any "guests" they would like to bring within 2 weeks. Pre-Realtor sale earns our neighbors a $ bonus. Realtor research has begun and will commence if neighbors prove unsuccessful. Price will be right. Looking for a quick sale. All that said we will not be giving this house away...so keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, whatever good karma you can send please do so.

Cause Sam...I agree with Bare and Johnny and HB. We miss you and everyone else MORE!

Hi, just recalled a "trick" I recall hearing from a friend who was selling her house. Her house sold but do not know if it was because of the following.

1. She always had an informal bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table - not a large one.

2. Made vanilla tea so that the house would smell delicious.

3. Kept the cookie dough you buy in the fridge section in her fridge. When ever the house was to be shown she quickly popped a batch of cookies into the oven. The scent of cookies baking gave one the feeling of being at home.

Hope this helps.

Hi Johnny - just read your post. Your new pups may like riding in the golf cart. Pups liked it so much he nipped the cart wheels to get it going whenever our son stopped when they got to there destination.

We have friends who have rescued greyhounds. They are just so beautiful and graceful. It is amazing the way they curl up. Hope your pups will learn to trust you quickly.

While you are waiting for the day to arrive when you can move to TV please don't forget to live each day. We are all so lucky, that I feel it is extremely important to always remember that. Like Bare does, keep a journal, for me - that would force me to remember all the wonderful things I have in life to be grateful for.

Don't forget you can always come to TV even if your home isn't sold.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks HB, as always you are so level headed. BTW we are only going to rescue one greyhound. If it's a male, Giovanni if a female then Giovanna. We won't know until we go to adopt. I never knew that greyhounds could not sit. There hind legs are too long. They either have to curl up or lay flat. I have read dozens of pages concerning the greyhound and how to be a good dad to one. Barbara is equally as excited. We should be down sometime in June but have to come back and stay on top of things here until the house sells. Talk to you soon, JM
