I hope this is the right place for this question.
I have an LG Vortex android phone, and I have 2 messages: Phone storage space is getting low, and text message space is low. It says that my Internal Phone Storage Available Space is 11.60 MB = only 6% of my total space. I took all the good stuff off the phone like Angry Birds, Google Sky, etc... I can't receive any text messages because it also says my text message memory is full. I deleted all the texts & removed the battery & restarted the phone, but it still says this. I googled the problem, tried to clear the data on my apps, moved one app to the SD card, deleted my email trash folder, but I still have the low memory messages. This happened to me once before, and then miraculously fixed itself. Should I just wait for another miracle? Does anyone here have any advice? No, I don't want another phone because my plan is grandfathered in & I'm cheap ![]() Thanks for any advice at all! Cheap-o Judy

![]() Who is your carrier ? Why not try stopping in at one of their stores ? My wife has had some off-and-on problems with her phone, and the local proprietor of the Verizon store has gotten to know us and has been very helpful. Just one suggestion......... |

I was getting that warning about "phone storage space is getting low" on my HTC Incredible and couldn't get it to stay away permanently. After an upgrade to a newer version of the Android operating system, the warning stopped. I never got a warning about text message space.
My advice --> Go to androidforums.com Scroll down and go into the section for the LG Vortex. You will probably find users with the same problem and, hopefully, find a solution. The HTC Incredible section of this forum helped me. Good luck! |

I want to thank you all for your support and advice! I went to the Android forums, and it seems that everyone there had the low memory problem, but there weren't many solutions to the problem.
I went to the Verizon store, and Mike (my new best friend) showed me that I had to go to each app and 'delete data'... which I had done, but apparently you have to do it 2 or 3 times on some apps before it works. Now I know. And now YOU know. ![]() I now have memory, I now have texts & I'm one Happy Judy!

I was having the same problem. My phone needed to be rooted. Then I downloaded gingerbreak and it has worked wonderfully for the last couple of weeks.
Use Gingerbreak 1.2 or higher to root LG Vortex with 2.2.2 hope this helps |

I don't know how to root my phone, and I don't have many files worth sharing. I also googled 'root my android' and this website came up. How to Root Your Android Device & Why You Might Want To - How-To Geek Unfortunately, I still don't know what it means to root my phone. I'm illiterate when it comes to these techy things. As I said, I have Mike at the Verizon store, and I should probably stay with him for now -- but thanks anyway. Maybe this info will help somebody else. ![]()

Rooting an Android phone is the same thing as jailbreaking an iPhone. After rooting the phone you can go in and delete a lot of the canned apps that came with the phone that you will never use.
I have an Android phone and it seemed that everyday I was updating the uTube app. I have the phone loaded and have moved as many programs over to the SD card as possible. I was still getting the running out of memory message. I finally decided to root the phone with Gingerbreak and then found a couple of other apps that allowed me to view and manage all the apps on the phone including the system apps. The first one I looked for was the uTube app and it was a true memory hog. I never look at uTube stuff on my phone so I killed off the uTube app and that ended the out of memory issues for a number of months until I installed newer cool apps and pushed the memory limit again. I now scaled back on some of the apps as I can get the same information in other places. just how many map and weather programs does one need? VG |

You might try getting the App2SD application installed. What it does is finds all the apps you have installed and identifies the ones that can be moved to the SD card, and then does it. This frees up internal phone memory and you should find that the text full message goes away. Some apps cannot be moved however, so you may have to delete even more than you really want to.
I know what you mean about being grandfathered in, BUT, for me (with my original Droid) there just isn't enough phone storage so, I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy the S III ![]()

Did you delete it while connected to the computer?

Are you asking about deleting my photos? I wasn't connected to the computer. Should I have been?
