Hi Everyone, I'm hoping you can give me recommendations of crane companies you have used, to lift your new swim spa from the street, to your 'pad' in the yard. Also approximate prices, just so I have an idea. Thanks so much!

The spa company should be able to give you some recommendations. They know the contractors that are set up to do that.

IMHO, you should have the spa company provide this service, we did just that when we had our 8ft by 8ft hot tub delivered and installed. This also included removal of the birdcage screen and some framing, and then the replacement after the hot tub was installed. If there is damage to the swim spa, you will get into a nasty situation between the crane company and the spa supplier. I would definitely not get into the spa delivery business.

One would think the spa company would handle the delivery and set it in place, but they don't, if there is not a clear path to get to the pad. I have my fence in the way. No birdcage yet, that will be the final step. It's a matter of dropping it onto designated spot on cement, once completed. Still going thru ARC, then permit process. It may be much cheaper to temporarily remove a section or 2 of fence and then replace after the spa is installed.
As for ARC approval, etc., you need 2 permits, the first is a spa permit, and the second is the electrical permit, and you cannot get the electrical permit without the spa permit. Make sure you pay attention to the clearance requirements for the birdcage and any electrical outlets in the vicinity of the spa. Just to be clear, you need to go to the County offices to get the spa and electrical permits. When we installed our spa we had to get the spa permit. The electrical contractor (Pikes) pulled the electrical permit. We didn’t go through ARC at all because the hot tub is within our birdcage. You of course will have to go through ARC for any concrete work and the birdcage.

Thanks for the info. The concrete and spa have been approved from ARC. There was a little hiccup with the birdcage, so we made an adjustment to the shape, so that should go thru now. Yes, then permit time for concrete, electrical, spa and birdcage. It doesn't sound like fun.
